How irrelevant is Archie Miller to Indiana basketball? I couldn't even find a GIF of him in the library.

that seems.. underwhelming

I mean he’s an Indiana guy … He just stole the 5 star recruit that IU had to have and got him to come to Notre Dame …

He’s recruited at an elite level since he’s been at ND … Top 5 class for 2025 nationally … And is a fantastic coach …

You give Shrewsberry IU type of money to get players … He will win … A lot …

IU could do A LOT worse …

There are also some rumblings that Beard wants the IU job but he could hold out to see if a certain Big 12 coach decides to call it quits … And he would want that job even more …

Dusty feels like IU passed on him last year and maybe that’ll all get smoothed over but maybe it won’t …

Replace Hamer with Boyton or Yaklich and call it a day if we're strapped for assistant coach $$ at that point.

OA + Boyton/Yaklich + Geoff + Tyler + Kwa aint a bad staff at all and if there's a seasoned x's and o's vet who's willing to come into Kwa's spot would be even better but that migh be tough to pull a Gentry type for our 3rd/4th best AC spot.

Appreciate all the insights. Just always feels like Indiana wants to make a "splashier" hire than a guy with 1 winning season in 4 years as a head coach... not sure that excites that fanbase.

Also when you say that they could do ALOT worse, for some reason an image of a smiling John Groce pops in my head 😂

Indiana isn’t as attractive of a job as some people think it is … In particular IU fans … It’s more top 15 than it is top 5 …

Beard just wants back in a top 15 job …

Just to clarify, I don’t think Qua, Hamer or Tyler are in contention for the open assistant coach position. We’re paying TA to sit at home and adjusted the others as a reward. They weren’t going to have enough available money to pay another great assistant coach. So we wait and see who BU can bring in.

Odds North Carolina opens? Would there be mutual interest with Beard if there's an opening?

I'd be SHOCKED if Carolina doesn't fire Davis. It was a pretty big tell from him when he brought in a hoops GM to get things straightened out there. The boosters are not thrilled that UNC is an afterthought now, and they really hated the drubbing Duke put on them.

Yes … But Sean will be active this cycle …

Miami … LSU is likely to open … Texas could have an opening and I think that search would come down to him & McCasland …
I respect Shrewsbury and would be happy if he stays @ ND. I think Brad is a good coach but not sure what to think regarding Shrewbury beating the drum on Illinois in 22-23 Not sure I want him back in the B1G already especially at a better program than PSU.

Surely Brad won’t go back to putting out feelers in the offseason again, right?

Right?
