Throwing the ball at the basket and hoping for a rebound put-back is not an offense, it's just offensive!

We definitely should have been attacking the rim but this game should have been almost over at half. Our defense is truly the issue. I don’t agree but atleast know how Tyler got the job, but how the hotpockets did Hamer get the job???

At this point I think it is just plain bull headed stubbornness on Brad's part. The more fans and beat writers complain vociferously about the futility of repeatedly taking 30+ threes game after game with poor results, the more Brad doubles down on that strategy and refuses to adjust. We have no offense worthy of the name, as we prepare to crash and burn down the stretch with an early postseason exit.

How many players and assistant coaches did he run off last year? This does feel like a Calipari situation, at least 2, maybe 3 NBA level talents on the floor and they can't scheme one basket in 7 minutes. I'm all for one and done, but someone like Coleman could really help this team.
Brad has lost more assistant coaches to lateral moves more than any other coach I can think of. How many coaches have left for non-head coaching positions?

7?

I leave this question to the group. At what point do we admit that we overrated our talent, outside of Morez and DGL, we have no athleticism and we have no depth?

I despise the three point barrage like everyone else, but 4 of your last 29........that's 1000000% on the players.

KJ, our lottery pick, with another 5/15 performance. Ivisic was BRUTAL tonight.

I get the Ben thing, I get the Brad thing, I get not liking the assistants, but when do we look at the roster and say..... they're just not what we hoped. We tried to put an entire roster together in three months....we have a decent team, but not a particularly good one.

Early in the year, when we were torching nets and winning, it was great. This was the philosophy going in. One in, four out, shoot 35% and hit the final four.

There were a LOT of us who know what live by the three and die by the three looks like. This is it.

I look up and down that stat sheet and outside of Morez.....nobody played well.
We have 2, possibly 3 (with an outside shot of 4) NBA talent guys on this team. The bench was a strength early. This is 10000000% a coaching and developmnet issue.

None of our players have progressed as the season has gone along. Hell, we chose to add a guy and redshirted a dog from last season's team for the guy who now gets ZERO minutes. Total, complete coaching malpractice.

Just realized something that was likely mentioned both on air and in this thread. Illinois was outscored 15-0 over the last 8 minutes of play when they led by one. That is sad. Not sure what that says about having 5 of 7 starters who have not played a second of Div. 1 basketball prior to this season

No one wants Weber or Groce back. Literally no one.

Some guy, with the initials of 'BU' says the goal is to win championships. I could not agree more.

Are we on that track? I do not think so.

Who says we have to go back to a Groce or Weber? Just because they were bad, we're supposed to be satisfied with slightly better? Underwood is in the top 10 paid CBB coaches this year IIRC. We're not getting that value.

Beard would be great anywhere but he’s going to Indiana.

I’m not sure who Illinois could get after him, but you got to see what’s out there. I could still see Texas going after Underwood and if they do you let him go.

I get that they are young, but I am sick and tired of hearing from BU how great this team can be while laying egg after egg.

The proof is in the pudding. I know this is an extreme take, but BH should only play 2 mins a game.

Now some of it is just awful luck (as much as we don't want to recognize). Right off the top of my head I can remember 2 or 3 literal layups that just popped out. And then Ivisic misses a one and one.

But man... something is just broken for that to happen...
More like 4 or 5 to be honest.

Inability to make shots at the rim have killed this team all year. Sure luck is a major factor - any time you go 19 straight, bounces are obviously not going your way. But that - the layups - I wouldn't describe it as "luck". That is a significant aspect of the game that the team is just very underwhelming at....consistently.

Count me in on that!! I’ll add to the warchest if we make that happen for next year.
