I understand that feeling. But: These are each and every one the guys that Underwood handpicked not 10 months ago. I think there is exactly one guy to answer for this. Brad Underwood.

He can dodge central Illinois reporters' questions, as he has done all season, but I hope Josh Whitman closes the office door and asks: "What is the plan to do better?"

Analytics ruined baseball, and now it's ruining basketball. Someone needs to start actually coaching!

I wouldn't be so sure. You know way more than I, but wasn't the story that Whitman was annoyed with BU last year or year before for listening to offers? BU's heart clearly has not really been in this season for some reason. Maybe NIL is wearing on him? I don't know. But the ROI is just not there for the dollars being thrown at this program right now.

I consider those statements to be incompatible. If Whitman is invested in Brad being the guy, he needs to keep paying for Brad to have a staff that can win big. If Brad squanders that money on bad coaches (as seems to be the case for at least two of our current assistants), then the solution isn't to cut him off: it's either to force him to make changes or to change him out for someone else.

Period.
I hear you, and my response was incredibly simplified.

First half of what I was saying was referring to any change after this season.

The second half of my reply insinuates the moment we stop sinking $ into this current iteration of the program, changes will be happening concurrently.

And what's with our rotation? Is DGL and Tre aren't just getting shelfed or are they truly sick? And even with that, the 7 guys you are playing... the rotation... not well managed.
Tune in on Tuesday (if you’d rather put yourself through that than idk, a root canal) and you’ll probably see a completely new one (again). Who !!!!ing knows

Hard to toss a guy after he made an Elite 8, but Hubert Davis very well could get tossed and he's made a title game and a Sweet 16 in his first 3 seasons.

When there is as much as there is in our program, you've got to provide results. Had we only got beat by Iowa State and only made the Sweet 16, would it be pretty universal that a change is needed?

I don’t know anything, but I assume he is very frustrated! In this NIL world he has to weigh the job of the coach and the apathy of donors providing NIL! You don’t want to go backwards in this NIL age as you’ll fall behind quickly!

And he’s been paid very very handsomely for it. More than ever this is business and fans and donors deserve someone at the top that will take this as serious as we do. The way the assistants have been handled is negligent. Losing Anderson and Frazier. Putting his son in charge of the offense and Hamer in charge of defense…he clearly isn’t taking it seriously enough. I’m ready for change now and we can get someone better…yank the bandaid off quickly and we’ll all be happier very soon.

I’m not even mad to be honest. We lost this exact same way we lost all our games this year. Super disappointing that this is what this team is.

I like to keep the conversations private per Josh’s wishes … But I will say this … Josh always has a list … And he’s always wanting to know who would be interested …
Any competent AD always has a list. You just never know when the right job opens up that allows someone to poach your coach.

I'd be a lot more forgiving this season if it wasn't for the fact that, not only is the offense nonsensical, but it is helmed by Brad's own son, who got one of a very limited number of assistant coach positions at a program of this stature with little to no experience. I am very intolerant of nepotism. If it works, then whatever. But if it backfires, it's really hard to fire your own kid.

MSU did what they do and did it well. We did not. Plus we have yet to figure out what we want to do and stick with it. Disheartening to lose to a team that you have way more talent than but MSU has been doing it all year. Not going to beat hardly anybody finishing the last 8+ minutes without scoring a point.
We know exactly what we want to do, we're just not good at it

Indy Illini Fan - do you think Tre’s punishment is justified for whatever he did? Seems he could seriously help this team.

Back to jacking 3s.

I think I’m ready for this season to be done.
I am still hopeful for some reason BU will wake up but I am not upset or surprised when we lose anymore. Even though I think we have superior talent. I do think we need an inside banger besides only Rez but I not upset when we lose like I was early in the year. To careless with poor shots and risky passes. Those that were chugging kool aid earlier this season can put it in the freezer for now.
