I believe it was stated by @Fighter of the Nightman a few weeks ago that:
When Illinois scores 80+ they are 16-1, and when Illinois scores less than 80 they are 1-10.
Frankly, I don't see us scoring 80 points in a game of basketball anymore this season.

We're winning this game and we're beating Purdue at home. I believe in these kids turning this embarrassment into fuel. Iowa is awful is my fallback.

Iowa will come in, smelling blood, make about 12 threes because we can’t guard a jr high team and beat us by double digits. Our last competitive game was at MSU a month ago and that game broke this team. No confidence in us winning another one this season.

Since Feb 1st we are rated 14 offensively and 221 defensively on Torvik. No, that defensive rating is not a typo. It's really been that bad. Anyways, I have a theory based off these ratings plus things you can just see during the past few games....
Despite the poor 3pt shooting, our offense is actually good enough to keep us in games. Problem is our defense is so bad we start falling behind, the offense panics and starts forcing things, and the wheels come off.
Solution? SLOW DOWN. We play at one of the fastest tempos in the country. I don't think anyone is afraid of running with us right now. Faster tempo just means more opportunities for them to score on our bad defense, and us missing more 3's.

It is derelict of duty for the coaching staff to have him come off the bench at this point. This change needed to be made weeks ago, but alas, the coaching staff is content trotting out some other starters (not going to name names) instead.
It is headscrathing to have a possible player drafted to NBA come off the bench.

Yeah. 7 second offense is great.....except you are automatically giving your opponent 15-20 more possessions per game as well.
Guess who's in charge of stopping that?
This team has no Pizza Hut… more like Chuck E Cheese.
They can shoot and we cannot shoot. I have very little confidence in this game.
We lose this game and NCAA tourney is in serious doubt.

.Where does the scoring punch come from off the best. If you remove Will from that change, we're going to have some real trouble.....which we already have. He still gets huge minutes. Rotations haven't been great because availability hasn't been great.
