Let me ask the dumb question of the day...

I thought foreign players weren't eligible for NIL. Did the rules change or just find a way to circumvent??

I'd much rather have Kylan and it's not closem Kylan us much stronger, better defender, ball handler, more experienced and steady. DGL is a role player maybe a starter but Kylan could be All B10 and is still just 19.

would you not consider kylan a pg therefore next year would be the first year with a returning pg?
Kylan is a strange one. Watching him this year has led me to conclude that he is a combo guard, not a point guard and not a lead guard. He is a valuable player, but has a narrow bandwidth.

another team built around young 1 and done players... not sure if I agree with that.
Yes I have a similar concern. Not super excited about trying that again on its face, however I could probably put on my orange-colored glasses and convince myself it will be great if we can land a veteran, star PG in the portal, and then just ask the freshmen to be shooters/athletes that play off of the veteran PG.

That's priority #1 this offseason (outside of retaining Morez/Tomi)
A pg who is “athletically and a shooter” an “athletically shooting” forward or two and anyone taller then 6’6” who’s a “athletically and a shooter”. Is that what you’re trying to say?

That would be nice, but I don't think it's a pressing need. We already have Kylan and DGL. That cupboard is certainly not bare. I want (along with the two shooting guards we have,) a rugged big guy who can shoot reasonably well, play the four, and be very physical. Think Kenny Norman.

Why do you feel that way. The kid is just 19 and next year he certainly can be. He is experienced, very strong, can bully most 1s and 2s, an All Defensive team type of defender, has handles, can drive the ball and get to the line, a very good FT shooter, from 2 pt range he has shot it well but his poor 3 pt shooting is killing his overall percentage, and although he has struggled this year from 3 he has shot 38% and 39% at Arizona. If he is able to shoot at that level from 3 or just take less of them, grow and improve imo he can certainly be on an All Big Ten team in 25-26.

Nothing personal at all against KB and he does have his moments of success , but to classify him as an all B$G player is definitely a stretch that I would not make..........the B$G is loaded with players that have a better skill level as far as shooting % on 3's and also on 2 pt %.....KB misses way to many layups and his height will always be a detriment as he penetrates the paint.......

he also is not a skilled passer with the ball......makes way too many ill advised passes at the lower half of his teammates or their feet........

now I could see him sneak into an honorable mention area due to his defense , but to say he is a 1st or 2nd team B$G is a path that I think he will never achieve.......his age has no bearing on my opinion as he has had numerous seasons at AZ and now with the Illini and never has been mentioned by any media website as having the potential for the accolades you think he might attain.......

I , by no means am an expert on this subject , but I stand by my opinion.....I hope I am wrong but I just don't see it happening......

I respect your opinion , but I respectfully disagree with you completely on KB's potential as an all league player.....

BTW , was KB on any all league teams at AZ ??????

They technically can’t get paid in the US. But they can always get money anywhere else. Also since jersey sales are passive sales they can also make money from that.

I did not say I expect him to be first team but if he improves much at all on his stat line much of 11,5,3&1 to go with his ability to play D without fouling much it's possible. Especially considering it's likely Will and KJ depart so his opportunity is likely to increase. He has lost weight and improved in all areas except 3 pt shooting as an Illini. I also think his experince helps but just being 19 is also not the same as 22 like last year with TSJ and Domask. I believe they improved with age and experience and Kylan and others will too. Anyway I enjoyed your thoughts and you may be correct. Maybe I'm being like Jim Carey "so your saying there is a chance" lol
