Every time I watch Danny Wolf play the guy looks like he's one more trip down the floor away from collapsing, and I can't decide if that's just how he looks or if he is playing too many minutes. His body doesn't scream 'athlete' to me, but I think that about a lot of 7 footers, so idk. Last night he pretty much looked like he was going to die out there, just looked completely gassed - missed badly on jump shots and free throws in crunch time.

We have beat down Michigan over the past few years. Don't think they are not aware of this. Everyone always gets up for us. Hopefully we are shooting the rock and hitting the boards more efficiently. Should be a good one.

Yeah, he had an awful game; bad frown and confused look on his face until that big smile at the end. And yet, still had 10.8.6 with a steal.

If we match their intensity on defense we will be in the game. If we get behind and put our heads down for 10-15 min….we will get throttled.

It’s crunch time. Are you EDG’s or posers?

Also Muck Fichigan. Ann Arbor is a who-ore.

As an NBA prospect there's no question Tomi is the much much better player, he has the particular skills NBA basketball demands of a big.

But in college Kofi is a two-time All-American, put some respect on his name.

He was a singular impact. It's a fair enough point that his weaknesses could be exploited in certain matchups, but the flipside is all the games against Big Ten opponents that you could see within a couple possessions that it was over, there was no chance we were losing when we had 2 free points every time down the floor.
College basketball is still fairly physical. Kofi would still be great in college. I don't see Tomi as an NBA player. Dickenson has slightly more skill than Tomi and came back to college for a reason. Is Hunter Dickenson expected to be drafted? Maybe he is but I dont see of them making an NBA roster. Get your bags of NIL then it's likely overseas or the G League. I feel Tomis best bet is the same as Dickenson and Drew Timme. Get pd in college. A guy like Kofi would kill us right now if we had to play someone like him. Kofi was a King and was and would still be a match up nightmare in college. I'm glad we don't have to worry about facing someone like him. Hell. Reese has repeatedly killed us so why so people think Kofi would not be as good as Tomi I dunno.
Michigan's big guys attack the basket and if we had the king then good luck with thar. Unfortunately we don't. ILL!

You don't need functioning wrists to be a big body in the paint and play defense. Put Morez in against Michigan with the cast! Arms straight up and box out Wolf when the ball is shot. Let someone else get the rebound.

/s (kinda....because this scenario is sadly sort of better than playing Booth at full strength)

Not a bad comp but Dickenson can't move his feet/defend well enough to be an NBA'er. Tomi isn't super fleet-footed himself but he's definitely more fluid than HD and a more reliable shooter. I think if Tomi stays healthy and shoots >35% from 3 next year I could see him getting drafted.

And Timme and Dickinson are skilled big guys, but Tomi is on a different level. It's a Europe vs America thing as much as anything.

I do think Morez has a chance to play against Purdue.

Would love to see us run them out of the gym. Play fast, make it a track meet. If it’s a half court game that favors Michigan. The magic number for this team is still 80 pts.

We're undersized.
We're the 13th tallest team in the country and play a 7'1" Center. Not sure you can ask all that much more size wise from us. Michigan is 5th in the country for height and as such is one of the few teams taller than us.

The bigger issue is that outside of Morez we lack physicality inside, we don’t have physical guards outside of Kylan to make it more difficult on opponents to get good entry passes, and we aren't all that fleet of foot. We also have a bunch of 1st year players who need a summer of strength and conditioning. This will be a tough matchup for us. In my opinion, without Morez, Michigan is our toughest B10 matchup outside Maryland based on how they're built.

Michigan brought in 6 portal transfers and 3 freshman. The only holdovers were Nimari Burnett (transfer from year before) 10 ppg and Redshirt JR Will Teschetter 7 ppg.

We are very similar talent wise but have lost 4 close games NW -OT, Nebraska OT, Tennesee Last shot, MSU down 1 with 59 seconds to go. Michigan is 9-1 in close games.

I think we are due (even without Morez). If KJ, Tomas and Will get hot from 3, we play good defense, limit turnovers we can win @ Ann Arbor.

When I say size, I mean our interior players. We have Tomi, Morez...........Ben. With no Morez, we have Tomi and.......Ben. Iowa just out rebounded us. You are right, the physicality is probably the biggest issue.

Now, we do have big guards, which makes us big, I suppose.

On Sunday, there's a good chance that we get absolutely punished in the paint and unless the guards crash....it's going to be rough.

Tre on Wolf - Wolf is not the ball handler Donaldson is.
Boswell on Donaldson - need a big guard who has quickness to slow down Donaldson, cannot let him get downhill.
So your take is that Tre White can keep Wolf off of the offensive glass? Sorry that I'm not sure of that and see Tre possibly in foul trouble, too.
I agree with you on Boswell's D, but never have seen him cover a 7 footer like Wolf. And Tre White may do better covering a guard like Donaldson.
Bottom line, IMHO, Hummer still is a big part of the rotation for the Michigan game to try to block out Wolf. Like you, I'm not too concerned about Wolf as a ball handler, and I'm less concerned about Wolf playing "booty ball" against Hummer than anyone not named Morez on our roster of thin guys.

We finally have a nice rest and some practices under their belt. Mi played a tough game against Rutgers. Watching it Wolf looked exhausted towards the end of the game. KJ needs to show he is a lottery pick on Sunday.

it would have been great if that game had gone into a couple overtime’s!
