Excellent get. There wasn't a lot of no-doubt tackle prospects on the board where Illinois was in good position (Bright, Smith, Mpouma, & Pritchard seem very likely to go to blue blood programs), so getting Thomann to (a) lock-in a for-sure tackle, (b) in-state get, and (c) a central Illinois prospect to boot.

Offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri, Northwestern, Miami (OH), Nebraska, Toledo, Memphis, Vanderbilt, EMU, WKU, Kent State, Virginia, and West Virginia.

We've joked about locking down the state and what that would do for the program (if that was possible), but what Bielema has been able to do for down-state talent has been incredible. Either those prospects come to Illinois or it goes down to the absolute wire.

Welcome aboard to the Illini Family. Big tall OT in the fold. 3 star rating 5.7. Not bad for an in state OL.

What a great pickup! Need all the OL help we can get for the coming years. Also nice to see us pick up one of the better in state prospects. Time to focus in on guys like Sutter, Anderson, Rankin, Hill, Riordan, Hankins etc. and see if we can win some more big boy battles with our in-state talent. I-L-L
