Feels disrespectful to let Duke play in Jordans house.
I couldn't po$$ibly under$tand why the United Center would be $o willing to let a program like Duke play in MJ'$ Hou$e . . .

:D

a little food for thought for where the program is (even if some have been disappointed). Attached is hte list of teams with 5 or more straight ncaa tournament apparances (active). This will be BU's 6th straight ncaa tourney team (5 technically since 2020 doesnt count).....

It's even more impressive than that.
Purdue and Colgate would have missed the tournament in 2020. So only MSU, Gonzaga, Houston, Tennessee, Baylor, and Kansas have longer active streaks than we do.

Ps. What Izzo has done is pretty incredible. 26 straight tourneys in a real conference. Wild.

On occasion has resorted to sending in goons to break face of the other teams best player to maintain the streak but impressive nonetheless.

Purdue Coach Matt Painter Sets the Bar for Illinois in March

https://www.si.com/college/illinois/basketball/matt-painter-illini-march-expectations

Painter said he likes Illinois' talent and offensive scheme, noting that the Illini need strong passers to make the most of it. “When they’re really passing the basketball," Painter said, "they’re dangerous.”

How dangerous, exactly? Are we talking about a team that lands in the Sweet 16? Makes another Elite Eight run? Crashes the Final Four?

Said Painter: “They can beat anybody in the country.” “They’re one of those teams that could just blitz people in the NCAA," Painter said. "But if they get in one of those ruts, that could beat them.

Of course, Painter is correct. We had two or three possessions toward the end of Purdue game about the 3-4 minute mark that just about doomed us. We had possessions with both Tre and Riley do the one-on-one take the world thing and failed. KJ actually did the same a couple minutes later and happen to sink it.

The driving, cutting and passing game is this team's strength. The three's seem to go in more often off of those possessions as well.

Riley had an incredible start to the season. Disappeared and was non-existent for like a month. And now has re-captured that lethal prowess.

He's averaging just 12 a game - feels like a whole lot more. I'd argue he's your best player. If you were take away that one month (from like the Arkansas game until the Nebraska game let's say), I wonder what his stats are.

Looking at our early schedule, he didn't have the same competition. Scouting and following the scouting at this level is an adjustment. You could see the game was a little fast for him. When it clicked, his confidence grew. He's starting to put it together on the defensive end too, outside of his need for more strength.
