Lol we gotta stop calling every 6'6 white kid Marcus Domask. Domask played with the ball in his hands on the perimeter at SIU while having the ability to post up and score inside. Pierce plays as an undersized stretch big. Think a less muscular and not as good Trey Townsend from Oakland(been kind of disappointing at Zona).

Also, I disagree on the shooter part. People see the 30% 3pt shooting at Illinois and think Domask couldn't shoot but he was a 35% shooter his final two years at SIU on good volume and was good at Illinois once conference play started. He just had an awful cold stretch at the beginning of the season before the offense came together. Domask was also an elite Free throw shooter(Pierce is shooting 65% from the line).
I stand corrected.

Someone posted a list of players Illinois might be pursuing in the portal, I think it was @illini0440, that included Donovan Dent from UNM. Didn't see his name get brought up again, with folks deferring to others on the list.

I think we would really enjoy Dent on the Illini. His game resembles TSJ's to me, physical, explosive scorer. Any word on the possibility regarding him?

He'll portal and there is interest. Need to see how things shake out, but definitely a possibility and will be targeted

Dent will likely portal but I think he also likely will follow Pitino if he gets a new job …

A fair bit shorter than TSJ isn’t he? Just saw him hit a 3-pt shot two steps inside halfcourt as time expired in half.

He's been great these last few... but ur talking basically the third or fourth option on this team vs the arguably the best individual player in the league. Sure :rolleyes:
Any D1 basketball player who jumps on their free throw attempts can’t be the/one of the best players in the league. Automatic disqualification in my book lol

Sandfort is out of eligibility … Little bro isn’t good enough to play here …

Only one kid on Iowa good enough to play here and he ain’t coming because we got kids better than him already and he has 0 interest … But no one else on that team is good enough to play here …

This makes me sad. I'm happy for those who profit, but for things to have gotten to this point is almost unbelievable. It would be kind of nice to know what at least part of our team will look like. Hopefully, we have 4 or 5 really meaningful returnees.
I dunno, $6 million for a top-25 roster doesn't actually feel like that much to me. A top 25 athletic department revenue is about $145 million. The estimate I've seen is that men's basketball typically accounts for 20-30% of revenue. If you take the low end of that, you're talking about just under $30 million. So the roster is getting 1/5 the revenue the school is taking in from the team (and it doesn't actially come from the team but from outside sources). If anything, that sounds a bit light. NBA players receive 50% of revenue per their CBA.

For the insiders, I’m just curious. Any rumors regarding Braden Smith? Maybe Purdue has more NIL than I’m aware of but I’m surprised there hasn’t been a single rumor about him getting poached.
