Morez looked good if not rusty. KJ tried but was trying too hard. Will had a better 2nd half but felt like had no confidence when he missed those 2 layups in the first half. So like, that’s good I guess?

I still think we get a 6 for the same reason Kansas got a 4 last year. All the “bad” losses like Nebraska and USC you can blame on illness and injury.

Gonzaga, St Mary's, Mizzou, Uconn would be possibilities. But, as others have asked, does it truly matter?

We have a dainty, euro soft team.
You really watched this game and thought KJ was the soft one? At least he showed some !!!!ing effort.

I thought Tomi was bad but he didn’t look set up for success. He was fighting and unfortunately fouling bc he was fouling. If anything, you look at Tre, Ben, and Jake and they were all terrible.

Hard nosed, tough defense travels well and never has a poor shooting night. Lou Henson knew that, Bob Knight knew that, Tom Izzo knows that, Keven Willard knows that. Even Bruce Pearl knows that.

Let’s do multiple choice on what happened tonight:
A) We were poorly coached, B) we were not ready to play, C) we don’t match up well with physical teams, D) we have low basketball IQ, E) we lack mental and physical toughness, F) we were poorly coached, G) all of the above

No worries – in Brad we trust.

Demolished.

- You'll look at KJ's statline and think he was OK. He has not shown improvement over the last month...maybe more. Lack of athleticism hurts him and he doesn't want to challenge bigger, faster athletes. Had trouble getting by guys and will either stop and try to get fouled when he does get by someone, or he'll kick it out. He prolly has dropped to the 10-20 range in the draft. NBA teams will have to take a hard look and see if he can keep up with NBA athletes. It's crazy how night and day the first and second half of the season has been for him...wonder how the arm injury really affected him.

- I can't stand the ***** play from them. They walked in like a 5th grade team playing an NBA team. Play with some f*ckin balls. As a fan I can take you getting blocked if your going hard to the rim...or missing a layup if you trying to jump with them. They played like weaklings, mentally and physically. Will is a good player, Tomi is 7'1, Tre is a veteran as far as college goes. You're not playing the Monstars....play with confidence and without fear. If you lose, you tip a cap and walk out of the gym.

- Brad is great at setting a culture. Brad is awesome with the media. Brad is pretty good at team assembly and finding pieces that fit well together. Brad has shown to be good at finding and developing talent, and also, making good talent into great talent...

He is bad at X's and O's. His stubbornness has cost the team games. His in game changes are awful at times. He has a knack for letting 1 guy take over the game for the other team. Until he fixes or gets better at these issues...there will be a cap on his success UNLESS his overall talent overcomes that. I'm glad he's the oach and he deserves credit for where we are at as a program...but these issues continue to plague the team in the long run.

- The fact that we are so young showed it's head...alot of dumb Freshmen mistakes. If you're going to build a young team like this, these are the lumps you take. The team is young, not strong enough, and haven't played enough games to limit some of these "young" mistakes.

- How far they go un the dance will completely depend on the draw. They can win 1 or 2 games if they get a favorable seeding... I have serious doubts about any top teir team that comes along. Looks like a 1 and done or maybe a 2 and done to me. And I'm all for being COMPLETELY wrong. But we have to look at what's in front of us.

How will they respond. Cuz that was embarrassing.

All depends on match ups. If you are a 6 seed you could get an over rated 3 seed but you would then Play a tough 2 seed. At some point you got to beat a team equal or better than you. Ju
Sure but it's all about the odds and the odds of getting bounced in the 1st or 2nd round as a 7 or even 6 seed are way higher than as a 4/5 seed.

Our front court is one big glaring hole. When either Tomi or Morez get in trouble we have no answer or reliable backup on the bench.
THIS.

A bigger issue is that I wouldn't put Tomi in the "bigs' category. He's a stretch 4 and he'd be best served being on the floor with two LEGIT bigs. He's way too soft to play in the post right now.

Yes way. We might be in the 7/10 game and we might be a 6. You don't know for sure so stop telling me what you don't know.

Most projections have us as the best 6 seed before this game and the committee doesn't take these conference tourney games that seriously. They take the complete body of work.

The best spin you could put on this fecal dump of a game is that the fast pace from yesterday's victory over Iowa left the Illini gassed and unable to compete against a well rested and far more talented Maryland team, who would have beat us under any scenario. It may be too much to hope for, but I really would like to see Ty Rodgers come back next year. We could desperately use his toughness, defense, rebounding, and leadership, and if he has refined some post moves and maybe some booty ball action to the hoop, that's just icing on the cake.
