I'm one of those people that tries to be loyal. But I just don't understand if they're not buying into the program that Brad has or he is just being out coached.. we have some real talent and I don't understand why we can't get them to play to their full potential. There has to be a reason. I hear a lot of people comment about Brad not adjusting the game when what he is doing is not working and it seems like that might be somewhat true. I think he's a good coach so I don't know why we keep running off the tracks.. it's an honest question.

Brad has some issues with in game adjustments, but the whole team this year are basically 1st year players. Even the guys that aren't freshman are in their 1st year at Illinois. Brad needs to just get some guys to stick around longer than 1 year. This has not been a bad year considering our youth and all the injuries/sickness. Sooner our later Brad will get the right group and win the whole thing.

Ok. Well that doesn't explain why we lose to people that we shouldn't. I understand everybody can lose every day or every game. I just feel like we don't play to our full potential. I feel like playing Maryland we should have at least been competitive. But we weren't.
And I feel like we may never get a team again like 2005 because they really gelled as a team. They anticipated where their teammates would be. They were like a machine.. and I believe they only lost to Ohio State during the Big ten tournament and then to North Carolina. That's a hell of a team.

We also gotta stop losing by 20-30 points against top teams when our stated goals are championships; while having 2/3 NBA players on the team but looking like we don't even belong on the court with these teams. And losing multiple games at home that just should not be lost. This is the the inevitable consequence of having high expectations, as we all should. I think BU is a very good coach. But I'm hoping he is a great coach, and this season is not making the case. We all want the best for him and the program.

Teams lose games sometimes. This year's Duke team is one of the highest rated teams on Kenpom ever and has lost 3 games, all to teams they should not have lost to. It happens. SIUE is in the tournament this year after getting blown out by 25 against one of the worst teams to ever grace a college basketball court, coached by Doug Gottlieb of all people.

That team had been together for 3 years

What is your opinion about Brad Underwood? Will he stay or will he go?

Why would Brad be going anywhere? He is a great coach and is paid like one.

Why would he go? I sure hope that doesn't happen. While I trust Whitman's ability to hire a replacement, there are no guarantees in this business and the odds of replacing the winningest head coach in the conference over the last 5-6 years with someone better are pretty slim.

Never fails after every damn loss. 'Underwood sucks', 'the team suck's and 'ain't going nowhere'. After every win, 'Underwood is going nowhere', 'we could go to the FF'

I think it’s more so after every blowout loss, and, unfortunately, there have been a few lately.
Don't forget all the losses where we get out to an early lead and then proceed to slowly but predictably piss down our legs.

I know a blowout loss feels really really bad, but would you rather we won fewer games but just never got blown out? Functionally, a loss is a loss, and Brad loses fewer games than just about anybody that would be in the market to replace him.
