I love
Man the UNC over WVU thing is really, really bad, I had not been following this.

The difference in quality wins is so stark.
I love how they make sure to say the AD is not in the room for any of the discussions about UNC…these people have been meeting and working together on this throughout the season. I am sure discussions have been had long before that point! Ridiculous!

They should make the head of the committee a D2 AD or someone outside the sphere of the NCAA Div 1.... There should NEVER be any opportunity given to allow even the slightest hint of impropriety in the choices....

Heard the chair say their quad 2 wins made up for the fact they had 1 quad 1 win in 12 attempts. They were 8-0 in quad 2 games but they did have a quad 3 loss

I think the biggest seeding question was Gonzaga. Their seed = their NET rating. They played a tough non conference schedule
Baylor
UCLA
IU
UCONN
UK
WVU

AD is the head of the committee.
Even more egregious. 1-12 against Quad 1 teams is an utter embarrassment. How many opportunities are they to be given to prove that they can't beat good teams? How do they even have a Net Ranking in the 30s? They must've beatdown Quad 2 opponents to make their numbers look nice. But as the saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig

We are 8-8 vs tourney teams this year. That pretty much says we can win or lose against anyone.

If we can bring the fight to the game and Rebound, then I like our odds to get to the sweet 16.

So the bar has been established for NCAA tourney qualifications. Quad 1 wins are not necessary just as long as you schedule those games is good enough but you DO NOT have to win any of them. How do you think that will play out next year? Let's just say Illinois plays 10 quad 1 games and wins 2 of them. Do you think the committee says oh hell yes they should be in! This was definitely a I got your back Mr. Chairman!

The other thing that bothers me about the UNC inclusion was that the vice head of the committee specifically said that if UAB had beat Memphis, North Carolina would've been the first one out. Does anyone actually really believe that? It's like they wanted to emphasize that to the extreme. Had UAB beat Memphis, my belief is that they would've still kept UNC in the Dayton and would've sacrificed San Diego St. No doubt in my mind that would've happened. I think this single inclusion tarnished the selection show b/c all of the attention went onto UNC and not as much on the other deserving teams

UNC in? What a farce.

Anyone who understands organizational dynamics knows that the boss does not have to physically be in the room to influence decisions made in that room.
