There is no world in which KJ's recent play sends him back for one more year to play with here with Dame? Maybe we find some boosters interested in funding that specifically?

I get that this is unlikely and not the current plan - just asking

The last pick in the first round is getting a $2 million a year. That doesn’t leave a lot for the rest of the squad.

This player is mentioned often on this forum. However, I haven't seem anywhere that he (Dame) is committed to Illinois. Is this wishful thinking or is it a secret that everyone except me knows?

I hadn’t heard anything, but the sleepers video today talking about Painter basically saying if you think you can get more $$, a better situation for you etc than you can get at Purdue, go ahead and leave.

Might not be directed at Smith, but not sure anyone else on Purdue can command a kings ransom in the portal to warrant such a remark.

Plus if I were Smith I would feel like this year was a bit of a waste. They were clearly a player or 2 short, even with a healthy Jacobson, and I could see being a little miffed that Painter didn’t address the roster shortcomings via the portal.

Will be an interesting situation to monitor. Would Painter cough up 7 figures to keep Smith and would Smith leave 7 figures on the table to stay at Purdue? Because I am sure there are multiple teams willing to pay him 7 figures for his senior year.
