Yeah...I don't get this board's obsession with him. He had some really talented teams at Arizona and never made it to the Final Four. Solid coach but at best he's a lateral move from BU.To everyone who says that Sean Miller is the coach to take us to the next level...
Illinois played pretty average defensively. Ran some nice offense. Didn’t stand around and chuck 3’s. Run any type of offense and we should beat them. I called it a win by 20. Missed that one by a bit.
To be somewhat neutral, I think he played some damn good defense. Obviously his shot was off (what's new) but the defensive end, he worked his @$$ off in the short minutes he had.
Usually Jake gives us a few rebounds at least but I don't remember him being in at all.

I’m a big Barkley fan but what he did at halftime was embarrassing and so unprofessional. He can get away with it but that was awful.
What year is he? Imagine him, Tomi and 'Rez rebounding the ball? Also, that would give Illinois a nice player who could post up and score, drive to the basket and score and play really good defense. Let's get him!

That was a great display of a well-oiled and talented Fighting Illini squad...........Hitting on all cylinders and setting an Illini record of 18-18 FT's in an NCAA Tourney game..........
Whether it was Tomi carrying the team early or Will on one of his second half heaters , it was ALL the Illini doing whatever was needed to carve up the musketeers and pull away for the convincing 13 point win.......................

I do agree with this. He played well when they drove at him, and was able to force some bad shots. He didn't fall for their head fakes and all.

After Tomi's 4th three pointer a graphic on screen said most 3s by a 7 footer in NCAA Tournament history. Which was followed by the announcer pointing out it was the 4th most ever in the tournament. Oh well long day for announcers too.

Great question. I’m also wondering how he’s shooting 35% from 3 according to the Illinois website. Seems like he’s shooting around 25% at best.
