I saw someone in the 3/21 thread who had a perfect bracket except for Mizzou and Kansas. Whoever that was, come on. Those were such easy picks even without our Illini fandom influencing us. ;)

I went 15-1 day one on the fibonacci bracket. It was KU that got me. You're right, I should have known better.
I came back to earth yesterday. Memphis and Akron hurt me bad. Again, I messed up with my Illini heart.

Yes, there were a lot of blowouts in round 1:

B1G in particular was 8-0, outscoring their opponents by an average of 79-59, with an efficiency margin of 0.30, which is higher than any one team averaged over the course of the season.
Should make for a good 2nd round. Hopefully.

not the biggest fan of scheduling in general with the early games spread out across 5+ hours and the evening games spread out across 2. Especially for tomorrow (with the first game being an 8 v 1). When will they consider the needs of the day drinkers?
I hate it because you can't flip to another game at halftime or during the commercials, plus something like St. John's vs. Arkansas could turn into a blowout.

They've been doing it this way for a while, though. Apparently the casual fans are more likely to turn on their TVs in the evening.

Lots of intriguing games today. Gonna be a fun day of basketball.
Anyone think Auburn is gonna have their hands completely full today w a motivated Creighton squad?
I picked Creighton over Auburn in my bracket.
Auburn looked meh vs Alabama recently, and lost what, 3 of its last 4?
Maybe they peaked too early.

The flow of this Saturday is so broken this year. One game on. That game is horrible. They're just begging people to go outside on a Spring afternoon. From a societal standpoint, honestly, it might not be the worst thing. But man, they're really killing the magic of the first weekend of the tournament.

They've been using a schedule format like this on first weekend for years now.
