I never saw any of the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels until I was an adult. It was a thrill every time!!! Got to see some Navy Fighters during a USN convoy exercise come in at +mach speed and drop dummy missile/flares right off our port side signifying a hit, and the sound didn't catch up until they were just dots on the horizon! Craziest thing I've ever witnessed up close and personal. It was so bizarre to see a fighter jet moving in complete silence literally 50 feet overhead. I know you are in for a great time! Go Illini!

I was also a big fan of Flying Illini air national guard based in Springfield.

They perform for the air force academy graduation every year and practice a few days beforehand here in CO Springs. It's always LOUD to have them flying around you

I first want to say that today's apparent rumor that Underwood turned down Texas combined with my having a clear head before the emotions of today's game ... I am so happy and content with this program. Win or lose today, we are in a great spot. With that said...

I was thinking today that this is the E-X-A-C-T type of game that Illini Basketball too often loses. It's the classic Second Round loss that compiles year after year and has the casual fan thinking an Arizona or Syracuse is leaps and bounds better than Illinois historically, with that fan being ignorant of how great Illinois looks in categories like NCAAT appearances, all-time winning percentage, AP Poll appearances, etc. It's that essential speed bump at which we have stumbled far too many times.

Defeating #3 seed and Blue Blood Kentucky to get back to the Sweet Sixteen for the second straight season would be a momentous statement after the ups and downs we've had this year. The haters in other fan base claimed we'd go back to the cellar after Ayo ... then it was after Kofi ... then the narrative was that Underwood could reload with talent, but we'd always stumble short of the Sweet Sixteen ... and now it's probably that we needed TSJ. Winning today provides too much evidence that we are in a self-sustaining spot as a program and a brand.

I will live with a loss today, but man ... anyone ready for this to end?! The thought of having all week to get hyped about playing again next week and getting to see Illini fans descend upon Indianapolis just sounds too fun to pass up. Let's go get a W!

It's astonishing that someone clearly thinks the Flyin' Illini set is cursed after the Duke loss, but the regular orange continues to survive with favorable marks after the disaster vs. Maryland in the BTT, the humiliating loss at Wisconsin, the dumpster fire at Nebraska, the 30-0 run given up vs. UConn last year, etc.

Lamont Butler shooting woes due to his injury will benefit us. Otega Oweh might be a focus for us. Curious if Kylan will get the assignment on Oweh.

It's astonishing to me the level of superstition with jersey color and style. I'm fine with arguing about what jersey colors and styles should be in our rotation, but that's where it ends for me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to sit in the chair I sat in Friday wearing the same outfit. Go Illini!

Just think if we went with something crazy like Wisconsins jerseys last night. They style posse would've been in full meltdown
