So that’s 5 straight seasons getting our !!! kicked to end the season. Not gonna get to the final four every year but for gods sake make it close for once.
We need a veteran point guard who can distribute the ball and run the offense. We have not had one in over a decade.
It seems that Boswell and Tomi will be back. There is a lot more uncertainty around Morez and Tre.

To me, he underachieved. He needs to go only if he doesn't make any coaching changes, and becomes so stubborn that it impacts wins and losses.
I felt at times he made excuses after losses, he also talked about how great this team could be. I won't listen to his rhetoric anymore. Just watch the action.
I do feel he has some momentum with these potential "studs" coming in, and possibly making some coaching changes.
One bright spot for the season...making the records book...getting blown out by 40 points to Duke and having the worst loss in illinois history.

Two major flaws this season: live ball turnovers and mediocre defense. Yes, our offense had struggles at times, but you cannot overcome poor shooting by high turnovers and bad defense.

I want skill and muscle. Kylans only 19. Rez is young too. I'd take a guy like Queen or others with skill and muscle that can match up.

Not good from 3, missed more FT's than we should have. But what really lost the game is handing KY 20+ free pts off TO's. Happened way too many times all year, just sloppy handling and passing. On to next year and the portal. Boz, Tre, Tomi and Rez back I hope. Another ballhandler, couple of guys that can shoot and a 3rd space eater inside please.
It was a fine season, wanted a second weekend. Huge offseason ahead, I will have more information these coming hours for ya'll as to where things stand.

Most inexcusable thing is the fact we’ve had the same issues all year and Brad can’t / won’t address them. Turnovers, shot selection, inbounds plays, defense, 3pt shooting.

KJ was poor on defense tonight, as he usually is. His astounding carelessness with the ball remains a complete mystery (as does Underwood's insistence that there is no issue to be addressed here). KJ struggles to lead a team. His clock management is not good. Athleticism is a problem for him in the paint. He has a lot of work to do.
According to draftniks, these issues will no longer be Illini issues.
This is what I was typing about earlier. He needs to be more openminded. KB should've been the PG all year. KJ off the ball.
In the offseason, this team (whoever comes back or is added) needs to work on passing the ball like grown men and not 6yo girls. Embarrassing how weak we were with the ball this entire season.
