I've had a few bosses like Brad. Like to makes sure everyone knows they're replaceable Love to yell and quick to blame others even though they're in charge. Loves to talk about how the new hires are so great. Loves to think of themselves as the King maker in charge he is needed because he is the only one who can fix it and get the employees in line. Calls it a meritocracy but in reality it's nepotism and favoritism and mostly just a yes man culture.

I'll make it real clear, those bosses suck donkey dick and should go the way of old yeller.

Was at the game. Really tough to swallow getting a gift of a home game and playing like that. As is usually the case in a big game under Brad (especially non big ten) we look tight, unprepared, out schemed and out coached. Kentucky is an average defensive team and we made them look like Houston. Zero answers or adjustments. And literally let them cook us on the other end of the floor on the same action over and over. Letting them score on 14 out of first 17 second half possessions is coaching malpractice at the highest level.

I often see people say the tournament is so random and you shouldn’t judge a coach on that. Couldn’t disagree more, the tourney is where you earn your $ especially as a top paid coach. Underwood has consistently failed in tournament with losses always ugly. Add another to the list.

C'mon, man. I didn't even bother mentioning all of the other talent we had, and all if the cash they were getting paid. When you're getting paid more as a "student-athlete" than a lot of of us make is a year (or several years), young age is no excuse. Severe criticism comes with the territory.
We had talent but we were not more talented than everyone else

We had a top 10 recruiting class if you include transfers according to 247. Which on paper is good but doesn’t account for existing roster which we had none

But in the Big Ten
MSU brought in good recruits and had talent returning
MD had some good vets returning plus a more highly rated recruit than what we had
scUM transfers were rated above ours
PU returned a good team with experience
UCLA had a top 10 transfer class

Wisky was the only team that truly exceeded expectations

Those teams had equal or greater talent than us based on what was on their roster and who they brought in

We returned 0 starters and had a good year. Yes I wanted to do better but so does everyone else. Coming off an elite 8 this was a good year

Return a core and plug in some good players we will be a better college team with less NBA talent

I didn’t see the game yet, only the stats. Tomi, our center, really took 12 of his 15 shots from 3? I’m not sure I want to watch at this point.

I don’t know why people are shocked by this outcome and how the team played this year. We replaced the entire roster except for 1. Chester and TA leaving and resulting fall out were big losses. Brad recruited talent and went young because I think they missed in the portal.
Probably hoped to build a team for the future like Mich St or Purdue or last yrs team. Problems: your 2 most talented guys you’re recruited are most likely leaving. Tomi, and if Riley stays have to get bigger and stronger, we need Morez to develop an offensive game. We’ll need another high quality handling/shooting pg/sg hopefully older. A back up center. Need a legitimate 3 pt shooter like Plummer (who can play some D).
Also Brad needs to get less reliant on the 3 ball and go back to demanding quality defense. My main problem with Brad is the love of the 3 ball. I don’t want to lose him he has won way too many games here. Been our best coach that I remember and that go’s back to Henson yrs from the early 80’s. Sometimes the grass isn’t greener. People were asking for Sean Miller and we bounced them out in the 1st round.

I think the biggest thing that sucks about that performance is we lost in exactly the way every single one of us could have predicted. That whole game could have simply been an email.
I watched none of it and haven't read any post mortem yet, so let me guess...
Offense: settled for and missed a lot of threes while KJ committed too many turnovers
Defense: 7th man had a career day.

Why not Tre?

Feels like a 4 colleges in 4 years type of players to me. For me, it’s “meh” if he comes back and “meh” if he leaves. Tomi/Morez/Bos are clearly the best 3 players on the team assuming KJ/Riley are gone. And I don’t think there’s many portal players that would be upgrades to those 3 so you have to bring them back

Do yourself a favor and avoid watching the game. Unless, you are in the mood to have a few hard drinks.

But, yes. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers by KJ and co leading to many points.

Defense: what defense?

To your point about TO's, I can't help but think of the bind TA sitting out put our guards in. I could be wrong, but he is/was the lead assistant for our guards. I'm sure Kwa is a fine person, but he is not near as refined as TA is at developing guard play. Assuming OA doesn't leave, this will be a huge offseason for Tomi and Rez on big man development. A full offseason is going to be gigantic.
