Illinois Loyalty Fibonacci Pool on picks.cbssports.com

I created a pool on picks.cbssports.com using the requested Fibonacci scoring. I'd hoped to re-use last years pool w/Fibonacci scoring this year. The pool owner didn't reply.

To join: IllinoisLoyaltyFibonacciPool
password: bringbackthechief

The rules:
- 1 bracket per person
- Fibonacci scoring

If there is consensus for some other setting that I missed, speak up.

Hey All! I asked Dan if this would be okay and he graciously allowed. My wife and I are looking to adopt a child (or 2, depending on the situation) and are doing some fundraising for it.

We currently have a matching grant available where all donations are matched dollar for dollar!

Our bracket fundraiser challenge will have a $15 entry fee, but that's worth $30 to us in fundraising. We will have a top 3 winners prize packages as well. This is dependent on how many people join our bracket fundraiser, but I'm thinking something like this:

1st: A new, top of the line indoor basketball. (~$100 value) Also, some sort of gift card of a your choosing to your favorite team's fan store.
2nd: A new, outdoor basketball. A lesser amount of gift card to your your favorite team's fan store (than 1st place).
3rd: A miniature basketball hoop.

I'll be happy to ship this things to you if you aren't close to me, of course.

Everyone, if you are cool like @jumpingjack, and help out with our bracket challenge by giving through the link above, send me a message and I'll send you the link to join the bracket. It turns out this fundraising tool doesn't give me the information in the interface like I thought. (Sorry it's new recently)

Thank you for putting this together! It's been a while since I've done a bracket, so I'm looking forward to seeing how bad my picks are this year. :D

I'm sure I'll spend way more time poring over picks than I should. As I knew I would, I'm already rethinking most of my "first pass" Final Four and am trying to talk myself out of three 1 seeds losing in the first round. This year is one of the toughest I've ever seen for the 1 seeds in the second round!

Also, when I do give to the fundraiser and IF I win (which I clearly don't expect to win), I would like to re-donate any winnings back to the family. Adoption is WAY more important than a nice basketball.

100% in. Will be happy to support you and the family.
If history repeats itself, I will not be a winner. In the off chance (minuscule chance) that I finish in the top three, please donate my winnings back to your fundraising efforts.
Thank you, Chad, for the opportunity to participate.

The first pool I ever got in I won. It was a dollar to enter and I won about $115, so there were a lot of people. The Illini were banned from postseason because of Satan, so I had paid much less attention to college basketball than usual. That tells you how long ago it was.

Since then I have won nothing. Maybe I should quit picking the Illini to go all the way?

So there are two loyalty brackets, right? grue2's fibonacci one and Dan's usual one?

EDIT: found the info i was looking for; in case anyone's wondering, as of 2am CT on 3/18, Dan's has 144 brackets and grue2's has 49 brackets.

I know it's too late to get a bracket in, but I've chipped in just now via the GSG website. Best of luck to you!

Congrats to the pool leaders after the first round. There were 82 completed brackets.

Jake Goldsborough - 30/32 games correct (Missing on Creighton and BYU)
TCB 13 - 29/32 (Missing on Creighton, New Mexico and UCLA)
6 people are tied at 28/32 correct.

Duke was by far the most popular choice to win it all (42%), followed by Florida(25%), and then Houston (10%).

Illinois can win it all as long as they play 5 more consecutive good games and someone else beats Maryland and Duke.

Well, atleast I'm holding serve on the bracket challenge.

At the end of the first weekend we have:
92 - cindy cooper
91 - TCB 13
91 - grue2
90 - three way tie.

We may need to disqualify Cindy though. (I'll leave it to her to fess up.)

Leading the pool by betting against IL in a toss up game? I dunno Coop. Seems sketchy to me. [There is no real problem.]

She's a real pragmatist. She claims she heard me say a hundred times I didn't think we would beat KY. Mea culpa.
