I'd be disappointed also, but we do get 15 players now. I can't imagine he has a high value tied to him. Unless he's toxic to the team?
It is just time to move on. His body language was some of the weirdest I have ever seen during and after a game. It looked like he checked out on the team. As far as I am concerned, he should have been told to stay away from the team after he avoided Josh after the Iowa game in Indy. It was a seriously bad look, IMO.

Booth's demeanor and the way he purposely avoided Josh on the way out of a game was very telling that he doesn't want to be here. Even if he did want to be here and he was acting like that, it can be contagious in a locker room. Good luck wherever he goes, but that type of attitude is the exact opposite of what we want.

I feel worst for DGL. Kid is passionate, but there's no room for undersized guys that can't shoot or play lead guard. He's an absolute spark plug on offense and tries hard on defense and I'm sure will see lots of success in a mid major uniform. I say this as someone who wanted him over KB mid season.

I think he has played as a lead guard most of his life. He got very used to making things happen and being the first option. On this team, he was the 5th best initiator of offense (I include Will and Tomi as better), and despite his try hard attitude, also the 3rd best defensive PG.

He just seems kind of lost playing off the ball and isn't a great catch and shoot guy. I think he is more used to shooting off his own dribble. I think all the things he does best, he will never be in the position to do at Illinois. Honestly, I'd love to see him go down a level and be "The Man" at a mid-major.

Confident Tre, Kylan, Tomi, and Morez will all be back. Great core to build with.
Given where things were with Tre ~1-2 months ago, I'm pretty stunned that it looks like he is planning to be back. I think I understand what happened there, in which case it's not too surprising that the parties involved could get past it and move on. Still, it's quite a pleasant surprise to hear he will likely be a part of the returning core. IMO not close to being as much of a priority as Boswell, Tomi, and Morez, but it will be great to have someone on the wing who has had some special moments coming back for another year. Still looking forward to seeing who we can add to compete with him on the wing!

DGLs problems are mental not physical because he has all the tools and effort to be a good player but he too routinely gets lost on defense. Gambling and being out of position leading to breakdowns are almost unforgiveable sins to BU.

If Ty doesn’t already have a landing spot lined up then he needs a new agent. He had to been back channeling the whole season.
I hope ty finds spot to thrive. Since we are reading everyone's demeanor on the sidelines in this thread, let's talk about this guy being nothing but a team guy when though he red shirted. Him consoling will with a towel over his face as they exited yesterday is prime example. Ty would love to have you back but wish you the best regardless and will be rooting for you wherever you go! 💗

Well unless he’s forced to live with it because he needs that player’s offense more.

I assume DGL is just pissed off for lack of PT…and to be honest (at this point) I don’t blame him. It’s a shame…because we know what he’s capable of. We don’t need him negative and kicking around if he does want to be here though obviously.

We’ve also see him be a positive ion…rather than a negative one.

The thing is…the defense is teachable/coachable. I mean we’re still striving to a be somewhat of a developmental program too right?

Never really understood all the love for DGL’s play coming out of last year. Had a stretch this year when he played pretty well, but otherwise looked like more of the same. When people on here were calling for Kylan to be benched for DGL, I thought I must be seeing Illini games from an alternate universe. Does have some hops though. Can’t remember who it was against, but that block on a run out layup attempt was sweet. Hope he finds a good landing spot should he decide to leave.

I agree. There was a second where he provided the energy and was the link to what we've known this culture to be about. Truth be told, he isn't a major minute contributor on a B1G team. Especially top half.
