Would you take AJ Storr at reduced price in transfer portal? Can't deny the athleticism. Quincy G et him on the rebound of the rebound?

I want more athleticism. Tre and Morez can fly. Tomas KB Ben Jake not so much.

I was once told Podz looked more like a walk on in practice than a scholarship player.

I’ve said it before, but his ascension needs to be studied. A 1/1,000,000 case.

Logging off from the Podz discourse. I already regret getting involved
Maybe he made a deal with Robert Johnson's friend from the crossroads?

Who and what are you saying no to? McKneely or Smith? Just asking as you responded to Malachi Smith post with screenshot of McKneely stats.

Anyway, did you see the 3pt percentages next to the numbers you circled? He's 6-4 and a 42% career 3pt shooter on volume and is a ballhandler... he might be my favorite potential xfer that has been posted so far. Also a 81% FT shooter.
My apologies. I screen shot a few suggested targets by the regular insiders whom are no more knowledgeable then anyone else paying attention. Here’s Malachi’s stats. Notice how he shot maybe two 3’s a game. Indy posted this kid. No way. Never want to see another kid who can’t shoot the ball
Here’s his actual stats

Oh ok I got ya now.. yeah he's not exactly my fave either, although the percentages look ok to me, he is also small (only 6 foot)

Podz is a legend and will be reveared at Illinois. He will join Alex Legion, Austin Hutcherson and Festus Hawkins as all time Illini Mysteries.

Maybe all of the work with Trent his freshman paid off.

Of all my criticisms of Brad, I will never criticize him over Podz' role his freshman year. Would have been great to keep him; I don't know what he was told his role would be moving forward. But Podz got the minutes and role he deserved that year, and if it wasn't good enough for him, then no issue with him leaving. It's a huge shame of course of what could have been. But that's not on Brad. That's just how the dice rolled.

I will offer an alternative view: big-time coaches see through the murk of freshman year and realize, hey, this kid could be my PG next year! Rather than Skyy!

His body certainly did as a true freshman, but his skill level was obviously high.

BU probably wouldn't make the same decision today, simply because the kind of basketball he wants to play has changed so much, he covets the things Podz was good at more now.

Maybe the Podz tale helped change that, who knows.

IIRC Duke has a kid that's 7 ft 9 in.
Prefer a dude that has good strength and/or Fletch can get him that strength. Guessing 7'9" has some Manute Bol in him. Nothing against Manute. RIP. Grew up watching him. Just want a tough strong dude to protect the paint. We didn't have that this year. We were so fast with TSJ last year we got away with Coleman filling that role. But if you're going to win it all, you need so much toughness and strength and an enforcer down low when you need them is a must. Can you imagine Ivisic at the 4 at the top of the key shooting, passing, etc. and a huge tough dude down low cleaning up if KB, TW, or Sarr miss a shot. But more importantly on defense if we have to match up that way, Ivisic, Morez and a Beast rim protector. I'm telling you, add a sharp shooter and a rim/paint protector and you have the recipe for a Final Four and beyond. KB proved to me he's our PG and a damn good one next year. Ivisic is so well rounded (would like to get more speed/stamina out of him), and Morez is my man - DAWG!!! With a couple of key parts coming in this could be a magical season next year.
