My plan:

March/April - angry and bitter that's Illinois isn't playing and I'm checking recruiting thread mostly

May - June - take a breath, enjoy the ride, see how things shake

July - assess the roster at this point then make bipolar roster judgements (either "we're going to the Final Four!" or "bottom half of the Big Ten, mark my words")

August - October - glee, excitement and eternal optimism in prep for next season.
Added some important context.

I watch Morez in warmups before every game, you'd have a better chance at making Shaq an 80% ft shooter than having Rez hit 3's at a clip that would help his NBA stock
Interesting. He showed some range in HS (admittedly highlights, so we/I didn't see all the misses or his %). I don't think his shot is broken like many other bigs, but I'm also not sure there's much schematic value to him trying to stretch the floor given there will be plenty of downs. Reminds me of the Kofi dialogue where people, myself included, said he needed to be able to shoot (which was true), but also...why would you move him further away from his most effective spot on the floor (the basket)?

Josh Dix down to Kansas, Illinois, and a return to Iowa. Visiting the first two this week. We have a shot, still gonna be tough.
Illinois has made more recent success than Kansas. Question is will Kansas be better next year.

2024 Illini # 3 Elite 8 vs KS #4 lost first weekend
2205 Illini #6 lost 2nd round, KS #7 lost first round

Kansas also has 5 star 2 guard and 4 star SF coming in next year. Does Josh Dix want to split time with them.
Our 2G and SF positions are open and we have strong returnees at PG, PF and Center.

On the other hand Dix may have to play @ Iowa if he comes to Illinois. He does not if he goes to KS. He will called traitor for leaving Iowa no matter where he chooses.

Oh, that sucks! I moved from there a few years ago to get away from CenterPoint. I still have friends in the area, so I've heard about the recent monopoly hike

To answer your question...pay attention to these recruiting threads. Coaching carousel has some good tidbits as well.

Dame Sarr scored 13 points on 3/4 shooting and 2/2 from three IN ONLY SEVENTEEN MINUTES in his team's game today versus EA Armani Milan

He also had 2 rebs 3 assists and 2 steals

17 minutes is half a game, basically

Impressive

Want to see it be even more impressive? Here's a list of players who participated in this game:

Name - Age (# of NBA Seasons)

Willy Hernangomez - 30 (7)
Tomas Satoransky - 32 (6)
Jabari Parker - 30 (8)
Jan Vesely - 34 (3)
Alex Abrines - 31 (3)
Nikola Mirotic - 33 (5)
Justin Anderson - 31 (6)
Chimezie Metu - 28 (6)
Armoni Brooks - 26 (3)
Freddie Gillespie - 27 (2)
Leandro Balmaro - 24 (2)
Nico Mannion - 24 (1)

Honorable mentions for former college stars Zach LeDay, Shavon Shields, Kevin Punter and current Illini target Luigi Suigo

For the love of everything sacred, please lock this man up in the O&B :ROFLMAO:

Caught the fourth quarter of Barcelona vs. Olympia Milan. Milan has Nico Mannion and former Bull Nikola Mirotic.
No sign of Sarr, but in an intriguing development, Milan apparently had to lose by fewer than 13 points in order to hold a point differential tie-breaker over Barcelona. Jabari Parker threw down a tip-dunk with a second left to build Barca's lead to 13 points.
After a clock review, Milan gets the ball at the half for a final shot. Dude jumps to catch the inbound and without landing hits a 23-footer at the buzzer to keep the margin under 13. So if the two teams finish with the same record, Milan gets the better playoff seed. Sarr was in for that final 1 second possession. Wild, haha.
Edit: A couple of Sarr plays featured in the post-game highlights. He looks awesome.

I would tend to agree. However, I do believe he will become a threat from 15' and in.

It's mostly BS that the primary issue is his role. Has it been mentioned? Sure. "Other teams are telling me I can step out and shoot 3's and get ready for the NBA".

But it's mostly about the $$. And I think the Tim Anderson situation still lingers some too.
Love to see a shot chart of his season. My assumption is that 80+% of his points were from less than 3 feet.

Stats on turnovers?

Is there such a thing as "Net Assists" = Assists - Turnovers?

It will come down to the biggest dollar amount in a bidding war.
Haven't seen Dix play enough to know if he is as good on defensive end as offensive. Numbers say he can shoot from range, but if he is not as good as we have on defense, I would pass.

He has been pretty poor defensively across his college career, for context's sake Domask had a DRtg of 109 his senior year, Dix was 115 this year (lower is better)

I would normally say that's a bad comparison because DRtg can contain 'noise' and be influenced negatively if the team is poor on defense as a whole... but we were also pretty poor on defense last year so it may just be a perfectly valid comparison to make in this case

He seems like a nice add, but I would hope we aren't using 2M of our budget on him
