Dame Sarr reminds me of high school/freshmen Andrew Wiggins. Seems to have similar skill set, aggression, measurables, athleticism, shooting. If we have opportunity to take him, you do. If you can build the team with Kylan, Tomi, Morez and Sarr you take that. Look to keep Tre, another PG/SG veteran type, and back-up big. Keep Davis as well for D and 3 wing. Possibly room for Ty. Watched another highlight reel of Sarr, looks like no doubt NBA player with added age/muscle. Great project for Fletch.
I played with Andrew Wiggins dad at Huff often. He was a great player. NBA wasnt as tolerant back then. Mitchell was a Houston Rocket and Andrew's future mom won a Silver Medal in the Olympics as an Illini Track star. It would be cool if Sarr is close to them.

Exactly- not sure what the other poster was watching but he played well against us and was 10/17 from the field, with 21 points. He’s not just a three point specialist he shoots 57% on 2’s and 43% on 3’s he has more steals than turnovers on the year and will be a senior having played 3 years in the big ten so you know it translates. Let’s not act like Dix isn’t a good player

I agree we shouldn’t pay $2M if that’s his number. I don’t see a world where we can take Dix, Sarr and Tre so if we lose out on Dix it’s not the end of the world if Tre comes back- losing out on both would hurt
Dix was playing for an offense built for players like him. He did well because he is a shooter but not all that athletic. He would be ok to get but definitely not a priority as far as I'm concerned. We need athletic gaurds that can shoot, get to the hoop and defend.

Utterly unsustainable in current form. This is why every season becomes more and more critical to win the championship. The system is not long for this world without major reform - if even possible at this point.
We need a system that, either by way of contracts or by way of strict regulation, requires a minimum of two years at a given school. I know it’s probably not possible, but if you transfer after 1 year, you have to sit out a year like the old system. I know schools probably appreciate the one year flexibility for the bottom of the bench (being able to push out your Booths), but this year-on-year musical chairs setup for the top half of the roster is over-the-top. And it absolutely crushes your mid-majors, as evidenced by the lack of cinderellas this year. Why would a guy that has a decent to good year at a low budget school ever stay there when other schools are paying outrageous amounts for their services?

We don’t have this one-year contract system for any other professional sport. Why should we accept it as the default for collegiate sports?

I not sure how to respond to this post on the crootin thread Pru.....

Let's go with this.

BU had a team this year that was soft. REALLY SOFT! We need to bring in at least (2) perky, team players. If they play together, results would be really, really elite!!

Keep it up Pru!!
Works for me.....................

Off question slightly for people in the know…does Sheila Johnson donate to the University and/or NIL very much. She was our first black cheerleader at the university, now billionaire. Owned several sports teams. Anyone?

Watching Ark. play TT now, I just watched their Ivisic look pretty good blocking a shot and wondered if he would be comfortable doing that in an Illini uniform. Of course, he would likely want to play with his brother.

But there is a truth (I know, truth is of little importance in the world in which we live today) that Ark. has a lot more money to spend than the Illini and a proven coach that players seem to like. Which begs the question, would Tomi be open to playing in Fayetteville next year? Is Tomi entrenched in Champaign? Not sure anyone has the known answer, but if so, please let us know. He was a huge piece of the puzzle for us this season and I would hate to take him for granted to return.
