The only shining light would be a little Croatian Twin towers action going, and hope and pray Jaktsys has made some strides as a big man to come off the bench.

A little extra money for Dame and throw a little more at Will. Go get a couple of more rotational bigs behind Tommy and hope Jaktsys is serviceable 🫣

Brad promised this kid SO MUCH for next year. There was more going on behind the scenes but still.
I believe you. 100% it's just Ty situation or him not starting...Brad's gonna do what he thinks is needed to win regardless of the ruffled feathers IMO

This type of BS is going to destroy college basketball.

College was always different from pro sports. You didn't have the constantly changing rosters. You were able to say I've got 4 years to watch these guys develop. I can get excited about next year because this guy(s) will take the next step.

Let's be honest, the quality of play in college basketball is FAR below that of the NBA. If you take away the aspect of watching a team develop, what's left? You better hope your team has enough NIL to buy a good roster every year. But we've seen it, Kansas has seen it, and many others, when you are out there fighting for guys trying to scrape out every possible penny, it is not uncommon to end up with a locker room problems, and its not possible to run and advanced system when everyone is new. It leads to a lesser product across the board.

If Jakstys plays any sort of meaningful minutes at this university we are in bad shape. Dude is a mid major player at best

You mean he does what every coach would do if they could? It is the coaches job to recruit the best players for his team. It's the player's job to win his role on the team.

This is what happens when you play Ben Humrichous over a talent that is going to be All-Conference Floor/All-American ceiling good by the time his college career is over.

This is avoided if he plays as much as he deserved from Day 1, not halfway thru the year.

In this day and age, it's all about managing the egos of players, and FAR more importantly, their respective inner circles.

Hate to be blunt, but this was 100% avoidable. And our staff continues to fumble these situations. Mind-boggling and beyond frustrating.

Guess we need to bring in two bigs now

This is dumb. The real issue was that we only had 2 bigs. If they get in foul trouble, we were toast. That was the bigger issue…not BH. And he did have a horrendous year for sure but that’s not why MJ didn’t play more.

Illinois gave Morez everything he needed, promised him a huge role next year, upped his NIL (from a deal that was already agreed), and he still decided to leave. Onto the next, good luck Morez.
Not this season they didn't... There's a reason he was mad early on in the season- and he wasn't wrong.. He and his circle felt that he should've been starting over Ben and they were right. Well done Underwood- obviously you built a fantastic relationship with this young man. Anyone with eyes saw that Morez deserved more PT early and midway through the season.

You're putting this on Morez and it falls squarely on the staffs shoulders. Exhibity A that it can be done: look no further than Bret and our football program.

Respectfully, they were prepared to start him and give him seven figures next season after he started a crap ton of games AS A FRESHMAN BIG.
