I was wrong. He wasn't a coach, but an international player. Thanks.Terrence Oglesby

We saw the potential of this group at Oregon and at a couple of the other big wins. We saw the beat down with Duke and a couple others also. Point being, potential was there, was the staff going to be able to get it out of them? So why should we have expected Kentucky to be our end game? Based on recent comments (Tyler / Hammer), it appears the staff may have lost player buy in somewhere after Oregon at some point. Watching the unhappy mugs of DGL, Booth, Tre, Morez at times may have taken a bigger toll on team chemistry than everyone thinks. Did it affect KJ? Seems like the players were plenty good enough to win. The “why” they didn’t come together needs to be considered.i was following the last thread (as close as manageable. That thing was on fire). A couple of observations:
1. The delta between outsider perception of our bball program vs the “hardcore” fans must be as big as I’ve ever seen over my 20+ years of fandom for any sport. I don’t really know what that means, but it’s fascinating. I don’t think any outsider “expert” or even casual Illini fan thinks there are any major issues. While this board is basically melting down. Frankly, I think, to some degree, the outsider perception tends to be more accurate in these situations.
2. If I were JW, unless there’s a donor revolt going on, I’d just give BU all the rope he wants and see if he hangs himself. At this point, forcing him to make changes to his staff is probably a low probability of success proposition vs the other options. The next natural question then is what is the definition of success next season to help decide what you do after you gave him the rope. I think that’s one or more of 1) big ten regular season championship 2) big ten tourney champ or 3) sweet sixteen. But this is a debatable point.
3. I’m not surprised at all, but this new nil world is really killing my interest in college sports. The revenue sharing model will make it worse, imo. Any association with the school itself is becoming a clownish fallacy. I’m totally in support of athletes benefitting from their nil, but it has to be on a more sustainable structure.
The people I have perceived to be insiders share so much credible information that it will be a real shame if the A-holes drive them away from this board. I hope that doesn't happen.
Add Ty, Jake and Josh Dix to that mix and we're getting close. Maybe add in Big Z for good measure.![]()

Yes. Sharpshot16. I apologize that I mixed you in with WhiteSox insider. You are your own insider. Thanks for sharing.Zero chance conwell comes here we aren't on him. Consensus is following Sean.
My boss learned I wanted more money! Guessing Josh is getting the same messageNo one learns anything from an exit interview.
I have a question for the insiders, does Josh do an exit interview with these players to really understand their reasons for leaving?
Man alive this thread from Friday afternoon through Saturday was sumpin' else. This place is like the aftermath of a two-day, MDMA-fueled rave. A lotta exhaustion, dehydration and regret in the harsh light of day.
