With this victory, I choose to believe this will be good luck for the we need drastic change camp.

If Buzz goes to Maryland, then we have a good situation.

If Underwood doesn't want to make the needed changes and A&M wants him, then take the buyout money and get a coach who can take the program to the next level. I trust Josh Whitman to make that call if needed.

If Underwood wants to do the necessary things to move the program forward, then let's get them done and move forward.

I don't see why Buzz would go to Maryland. He's from Texas, he had spent some time as an assistant at A&M and he's built them back up. Why leave?

I suppose it's possible he just doesn't like it there, and given his time in VaTech, maybe he misses that part of the country, but I'm in the boat of I do not think Buzz will go to Maryland.

Willard -> Villanova
Buzz -> Maryland
??? -> Texas A&M

Sounds like Brad is on the shortlist. I know he is not well liked on this board right now, but that would totally suck considering the sustained success we’ve had over the last 6 years.
I guess I'm an optimist. The program is in much better footing than it was when Groce or Brad took over, and we play with big boy money so I think JW could attract a coach to take us to the next level. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We’ve been inconsistent at best the last three years. Whether with Brad or someone else, we can do better.

The sad thing is that the problems are easily fixable if there is a desire to fix them. I just don’t think there is a desire to objectively recognize the problems.

Just watched Ben Mcollum 1st press conf at Iowa. He made some great points when asked about the portal:

"tough kids win, connected groups win, groups serving each other win, and kids who work with a level of humility win ....you can't over complicate winning"

Ben Mcollum is a really impressive guy

hopefully we still blow them out though!

Appreciate what Brad has done, but the past is behind us. This past season was mediocre and there is very little rolling over into next year. Compared to past Illini coaches, our resources and facilities are better then ever, amongst the best in the country and what was cheating in the past is now legal (I’m not sure going to to class is even required anymore) so I would expect Brad to perform at the highest level. I’m not so sure he hasn’t hit his ceiling.
