I think he has value but definitely not as much as Tomi, so it's sort of a cost-benefit thing and who else is available sort of thing for me. He has more value than Ben Humrichous to me for example.
Let Z be our banger and Tomi be the 3 point specialist. 50% kidding.

Calm Down Seth Meyers GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

Big Z would be backing up Tomi... I don't think he's a starter on a Final Four caliber team.

And I refuse to believe there's any chance that Will is coming back. Surely he's going to declare for the draft, and if I'm his agent, I'm telling him to enter the portal as well to have financial leverage in the event he unexpectedly returns to college. Can't wait to see the overreactions if/when that happens...
Rewind to Kofi doing it. Place went bonkers

Why would he leave being in a backup role, just to be in another backup role, if his goal is the NBA? Just to hang with his brother and watch him start?

C'mon....the promise here would be both starting.

Absolutely. Infinitely more value than Ben. He's bigger & a better player. There's nothing on a basketball court Ben does better than Z. When Z sees minutes....he produces. Even if it's limited minutes....it's more production than Ben on both ends. And above all, keeps his brother happy here.

Absolutely the easiest and no brainer decision of the offseason. David Robinson & Tim Duncan will have nothing on our frontcourt 😙. Except rings.

I think the people I talk to who think Brad may be a little “checked out” are still accurate in a way …

Big Z has been a target for months now … That’s old news …

Let’s get aggressive on some of these new targets … Get Hamer off the dang staff … Demote Kwa … Hire 2 new coaches and get cooking in the portal …

They just wanna see Brad turn up the heat and cook … They wanna see that fire he had in the NCAAT games carry over into the off season …
I think one of the biggest complications of the nepotism angle, is the toll the criticism of his son probably takes on the big guy. If it's not changing, he needs to compartmentalize the shots being taken and get back in the kitchen.

If Will wants to come back, Illinois should do everything they can to make it happen IDGAD.

The Ivisic twins can't possibly be on the floor at the same time can they?

You can't hide both of them from needing to defend guards.

I've watched a decent bit of Big Z.

Z is the more athletic one, better lateral quickness and more nimble on his feet. Better leaper, faster and quick twitch...

However...

He is still not great in space, and it's more of a defensive IQ thing with him. He needs to be coached defensively to be better and at Arkansas he had good games and bad games.

With another year under his belt, and with his Brother, you might be able to get a best version of him. No...he is not going to be able to shut down guards on the perimeter, but I think he might will be able to hold his own at times if coached right and with more time with Fletch.

You'd have to assume one is the center(Z) and one is the PF(T). If 7'1" has a blow by situation, having 7'2" in the paint to protect the rim would be ideal. Now, getting Z, would also have to come with getting a really good wing, then Riley/Sarr to pair in the backcourt with Boswell. It'd look weird because nobody has ever seen it, but it would work?

Sounds like OA might help out.

I am assuming Big Z can rebound. I still think we need more meat up front. Going to need the rebounding edge.

And boy are we well equipped for that! 😭

Sigh...

Z is the one with NBA upside to me because of his athletic profile...

Yea...we gotta coach better. They NEED changes. It has to be done if you're gonna get the best of out our players.

I have my issues with the offense (Tyler, if you may)... but I think those can be corrected in house, and with player changes. But, defensively... we need something else...

No way Big Z starts unless he has a huge jump on Defense.

I’m really starting to see the fit for Ty Rodgers on next years team … And I don’t hate it …
With the Croatian Sensations and the Humringadingdinger as the other bigs, absolutely. Rebounding and defensive versatility become desperate needs and a non-shooter isn't really a problem.

Ty and Morez would have had a very difficult time sharing the floor together, but alas.
