I think the poster mentioning the 'complicated' name was thinking of the younger coach who was something of a guru with fantastic results at lower divisions. Started with an S I believe. Was mentioned a time or 2 by an Insider(s).

EDIT: Ahhh I see I didn't get to this last page. Samarippas was the coach. Let's hire him, Boynton, AND Yaklich. Call it a day !!!

Texas A&M can be perfectly summed by Mike Judge's astute decision to make Hank Hill a fan
You sure?

If anyone thinks that any of these candidates has a resume better than Coach Underwood's, please raise your hand.

I presume that money is not a problem for TAMU.

Porter Moser is a lot young than Underwood and got Loyola to final four in 2018. Overall I would say they are pretty equal.

And this is the kind of take you get when you have a myopic focus on a single elimination tournament to the exclusion of 90% of the season.

Porter Moser is 25-45 in the Big 12/SEC and has never finished in the top half of a P4 conference. He's shown no ability to win at a high major. In no world is his resume "pretty equal" to Underwood's.

Meaning theu are struggling to find a coach?

They are throwing a ton of money at the problem?

We will have Nate Oats as our coach soon?
-I believe Beard was their top choice and they threw all they had for him.
-If Texas AM can't match what Old Miss counter-offered, they will not be able to afford BU I would not think.
-Nate Oats buyout is $32 million, Illinois not doing that.

$32 mil is what Alabama would owe if they fired him. If Oats chooses to leave, he has to pay them $18 million.

Moser is an excellent coach, but terrible fit for the SEC (or B1G), but I understand why he took the Oklahoma job and the money.

He tripled his salary and can always fall back to a smaller or better fit if he gets fired - or just retire if he has invested wisely.

32 -26 = 6! It's so simple. We just need someone to pony up for Brad

Just kidding. I'm not a fire Brad guy. A few tweaks to the defense and improvements on rotation and we are right there. Another elite 8 or better next year and all will be forgotten. I know that's easier said that done

What's the latest on the Rev?
I think he had a very positive effect on the 2005 team's success.
I always wondered if he'd ever be a candidate to coach the Illini.
Not doing great at Valpo. Would be a great assistant coach, but not even your first 50 calls you'd make for a head coach.

I don't think he's doing too bad. He took over a program that had averaged 11-12 games a year the prior 3 seasons. He predictably had a rough first season with only 7 wins, but then doubled that in year 2 to 15 wins. And they are in the games. Played Drake within 6 and 10 in their 2 games. Lost in 2OT to Bradley. It will be interesting to see if he can take another step next season and get to 20 wins.

Don't think $$ is primary factor for Porter, heard his family is very well off.He will probably stay in the midwest at a school of preference.

Moser took Loyola to the final four. Won the Valley regular season championship in 2018 & 2020. Took them to the final 4 in 2018. Brad has won only won sweet 16 game once and is in his 60s.
