How on earth did we get out-bid by Creighton? No offense to them, but if we really want a guy, we shouldn't ever lose them to Creighton.

Admittedly, for what I think Dix was going for, I'd rather spend those resources elsewhere. Way too much money for a guy that is mediocre at defense.
His family could walk to the games. That is why we lost to Creighton.

Also, there are probably a whole bunch of international players we don't even know about right now
For me, the question isn't so much looking for more KJ's (college freshman-aged stud prospects emerging from European youth teams), but looking for more Ivisic's (experienced European professionals who are - for whatever reason - NCAA-eligible)

I still kinda don't understand how Tomi got eligibility so cleanly last year. But we should push that envelope absolutely as far as it can go.

Wouldn't his brother's path/success have helped...?

This staff is like Javy Baez vs a slider rn
I laughed but the only school that has landed all of their top targets at the moment is probably Louisville.... Lot of schools are swinging and missing... Trying to stay optimistic.

Relying on the NCAA to have consistency in their decisions scares me though.

I mean he did lose a year. It helped that his brother drew all the attention and legal trouble the previous year.

In theory, sure, but Tomi stayed and played another whole season as a pro in the Balkans.

The NCAA ruling that he was eligible, but as a sophomore, was unprecedented as far as I know.

And it begs the question, uh.... is it open season on just buying any European pro with less than four years experience?

I don't think it was intentional but the portal keeps MBB college fans excited for months of March thru August.

Used to be just fall and spring LOI signing day for HS players.
