Boswell and Ivisic are the only two guys on the roster right now that I think are starting game one next year. Ty and Big Z (when added) will have a chance-Ty more so, but I suspect the other three guys will be added in the coming weeks.
Ty will start. I think Davis will emerge into a more significant role too, really glad he's back.

The question is the Croatian Sensations on the floor together. Can that work? If it can't we're gonna hit some turbulence.

You said Ty would start this year and be one of the best players on the team…

I don't think the two new 'junior' coaches are even allowed to recruit off campus.
This is true. When they expanded the number of allowable assistant coaches last year, they did not expand the number of coaches who are permitted to recruit off-campus.
These are basically new positions, so there is no apples to apples comparison between what a traditional AC should make and what the new coaches should make… Doesn’t mean we can’t upgrade, but the paradigm needs to shift a bit.

Not all AC’s are created equal.

If Tomi’s brother is the only big fish we add, I would try to get DGL back.

Boswell
DGL
Rodgers
Ivisic
Ivisic

2 Euro bigs, with 3 frantic athletic guards (that albeit can’t shoot). I think that would be a fun feisty team. DGL/Ty both have lot to prove.

By the time the dust settles at the end of May, I suspect Ty will be the 6th man but still play 20-25 minutes a game. They are going to bring a power forward in along with a couple of wings.

Any time table for Tomi confirming that he's going to actually be on the roster next year? We should probably start at point A before going any farther.

Sanogo was the only real contributor in ‘23 and yes he was extremely physical. He also wasn’t from Europe. We’re recruiting more finesse players that can shoot. Sanogo was more like Kofi

Sellers I would not call a finesse player

Z.Ivisic is a shot blocker and at least an average rebounder (I'm looking at rebound rate not raw average as he only played 19 minutes/gm)

LVille and Indy have posted a few physical bigs

Aside from the EuroLeague-is-soft myth, it seems more like your main concern is we are "just targeting finesse players who can shoot" which describes like one guy (Josh Dix)

Do we know how far along Ty has come with his jumpshot. He doesn’t need be a Plummer but can he be someone where they don’t guard him like Kofi on the perimeter?

I know NOTHING and if I was forced to put money on it I would go NBA, but I don’t think it’s the slam dunk everyone else does. He is extremely thin/lanky. He got knocked off balance quite often and really struggled when guys were physical with him. He could really use another year to build his body for the marathon that is the NBA schedule.

To be clear I know absolutely zip. This is my opinion. I’d still go NBA, but it is not an easy decision. We’ll see.

Have a good night, gang!!!

Ty will not start if all goes to plan.

I’m glad Jake is back as well.

Big Z will not be be starting. I’m sure the sell is playing with your bro and mopping up plenty of minutes at the 5 (and spot minutes on the floor with his bro). The Orlando connection is there. His brother is here. It makes sense, but he has to humble himself and look toward to next years draft.

The more I think about Ty coming back, the more I get warm fuzzies inside. I'm excited to see him back on the court. I bet he has a little extra juice after watching a season from the sidelines. It is 100% the best surprise of the offseason, and I'm including this done deal thing with the the Ivisic brothers (not complaining about that).

Hear me out...

We offer Will Riley 4 million to come back...

Is it irrational? Yes
Is it my money? No

You’d need more than that to get him back though, and then you have nothing left over for anyone else

I’m talking about the past 5 years of Brad recruiting. We’ve went from EDGs, to Guard U, to wanting length and athleticism, to 5 shooters even if they can’t guard their shadow.

Houston recruits the same kinda dudes every year, most consistent program in college recently. I just want Brad to be more consistent with style.
I mean its kinda hard to tell if these guys can really guard or not. They may just be better than they showed. I doubt they look this bad if they had someone smarter and better calling the defensive side of the ball than Hamer. They may not be complete shutdown guys but I'm sure they could at least guard their shadows.

Sellers is not a finesse player that’s why I wanted him and that’s why I’m frustrated he’s going to Providence while our focus seems to be more on euro players. I love our Euro connections but there’s an unknown translation aspect to euro league guys to college physicality.
