Roster construction is a huge miss on brad from last year, which is due to missing on guys they really wanted early. Talented guys are good, but we didn't get the Kasparas we wanted, half a season from Riley, inconsistency from tre, bricks and no D from Richouse, and a lack of defense from just about everyone. Tomi was consistently good at least when he played.
How many teams this year lost 96% of their scoring from the year before and made the tourney and won a game?

If that's our lineup, we're in trouble. That's a middle to lower end of the pack B1G team there that would be fortunate to finish on the bubble. Unless they will be improving their games in ways that are VERY atypical, Ben Humrichous, Ty Rodgers, and Jake Davis are role players who you bring off the bench in specific situations if you're competing for the B1G championship. Maybe Ty Rodgers could be a highly effective 6th man if he's improved his offensive game enough, but from what I've seen, these aren't starting caliber players on a team that's looking to contend for a B1G championship.

And to think this was known back in February in the Hawkeyes forum. Really don't know why he was driven so hard around here when it seems so obvious in retrospect.
From reading the tea leaves and insider posts, it seems we were legitimately in the hunt. had the best offer and had real interest from Dix but ultimately his circle pressed him into going home, with his sick mom a big factor.

Na. please don't leave because of this nut ball post. We need you. Our sanity needs you.

Boswell
Rodgers
Davis
Humrichous
Tomi

Should be good starting 5 and contenders in the conference. Great work by staff keeping our guys. Look forward to a tourney appearance and hopefully another Elite 8.
They might contend in Conference USA.

Someone asked about Elyjah Freeman and I can’t find the post … Word on that one is Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee …

Someone also said would Aidan Mahaney be an option … I’ve heard he’s heading back to the West Coast …

And for those that were wondering where Tre White might end up … I’m hearing Kansas is the clear favorite at this point …
What about DGL? Hope he picks somewhere he can thrive

I like our Euro connections but there’s a significant difference of physicality in college..

I want dudes that are tough as nails and that attack the rim. I thought Sellers fit that perfectly.

Seems like Brad changes his mind about the type of player he wants like Illinois weather.

I agree with some of the talk on here that we miss on more top portal targets then we should, even though missing on some is inevitable. Keep in mind that when money is equal or close to equal, intangibles such as reputation, chemistry and atmosphere do make a real difference. Without rehashing the marathon threads of last weekend, those intangibles were extensively discussed. Add to that the fact that two of our guys trying to close deals are barely older than children themselves.

Coaches talk, other players talk, and I think there’s an argument to be made that the beloved has some negative reputation out there. If we fire hammer, demote Tyler, bring in two new assistants with National reputations, and sign the twins, that along with bringing back three players from this year‘s roster could go a long way toward correcting the reputation problems.

This doesn't forbid commitments during this period, does it?
It does not, but the NCAA would prefer there not being any major announcements tomorrow through Monday so as not to distract from the Final Four/Championship.
