Is this a move to try and get drafted? Not sure why he would leave Barca without permission if he knew he was coming to Illinois

I would assume this is problematic in some sense. 🤔

The Nike Hoops Summit is an international basketball all-star game sponsored by Nike, held once a year, which features the USA Basketball Men's Junior Select Team against a World Select Team of international players. The players demonstrate their skills and hope to attract attention from either NBA scouts or colleges.

PF candidate?:
I don't think he's at the top of our board (there are better fits), but he's pretty good
He’s playing with U18 team it looks like l, but his shooting and mobility definitely translate - quick release. I’ve seen him listed as 6’10” as well, he would be a good get to come and stay a couple of years and develop

I think there is a portal PF that has been alluded to that would be the starter but I can see this kid taking Tomi’s role in a couple of years as a pick and pop guy

There is no way Dame Sarr ever comes close to playing for us. If he actually did want to play for us, there's no way we would pony up the necessary cash. We'd need to pay Barcelona for his rights, no? Then, we'd all but certainly need more than the highest known NIL deal so far which is what? 7 million?

Our “pipe dream” who we had absolutely no chance with just committed to Michigan

Interesting they are able to pull in such high profile kids with May. I thought a big complaint and a big reason why Hunter left is they just didn’t dedicate resources to basketball like they did football. Surprised they’re willing to break out the check book for May if they weren’t willing for Michigan Man Howard.

Or did they just not break it out for Hunter?

Looks like our resident traitor has some competition at the 5 spot now. Yaxel is literally the same build/size/weight as Morez and can actually shoot the 3. Not good for the Big 10 but definitely not good for Mr. Traitor. Yaxel will be the showcased player on their roster. Morez may be the 3rd/4th option depending on what you think of Cadeau and whomever else they may get. How long until he decommits?

I think Howard was the main problem

How so? I mean Underwood only ran circles around him in Ann Arbor and beat him last season when he was coaching Fla Atlantic. We should be more scared of Kevin Willard but at least he's out of the conference

Wonder what Morez’s dad thinks about that development. I thought PF was Morez’s position. He won’t be happy being a back up or playing low post. Isn’t that why he left ? Didn’t like the way he was being used . Or was it just about the Benjamins?
