Davis was second on the team in 3-point shooting percentage. If he can improve that accuracy a little, he could help the team as a spark off the bench. Does anyone know Jake's overall +/- result for this last season?

Interesting they are able to pull in such high profile kids with May. I thought a big complaint and a big reason why Hunter left is they just didn’t dedicate resources to basketball like they did football. Surprised they’re willing to break out the check book for May if they weren’t willing for Michigan Man Howard.

Or did they just not break it out for Hunter?
I suspect him flirting with IU got him his extension and higher NIL guarantees

The interesting thing about taking these potential draft guys are, you’ve locked up NIL and then if they do stay in the draft you have limited options to replace them

Our “pipe dream” who we had absolutely no chance with just committed to Michigan

We’re suddenly trending towards being a middle of the pack Big Ten team. There’s only like 4 kids left in the top 25 not committed. Feels like if we need a difference maker he’s going to have to come from Europe.

Brad has showed that he needs a bonafide AA to have success in this league. Not sure where that’s going to come from.

This, which is why I suspect that Michigan expects Yaxel to stay in college. I don’t see why you commit such significant resources this early without a strong indication that he’s likely back. Otherwise you could be left with a huge bag to spend but few guys left that would be good fits for your almost-complete roster.

Edit: last year Coleman didn’t commit anywhere until after withdrawing, for comparison.

Did Morez just become the backup 4/5 at Michigan?

What is their NIL if they're giving $1.8M to a backup 4/5?

This must mean Wolf is confident he will be drafted, I mean I just can't reconcile this otherwise

Very interesting to see what morez and family think of this move. Keeping my antena up.mm
What goes around comes around for Rez and his dad. They thought the grass was greener in Michigan and now it looks like they were double crossed. Let's face it, Michigan has been cheating, lying and pulling underhanded stuff for years. With NIL, they don't have to hide the under the table compensation and illegal payments anymore. However, dishonesty and lying is ingrained in their culture. They likely promised Rez and dad the moon, now things have changed. A cautionary tale of dealing with a shady program.

Larry Ellison (80 yr old mega billionaire - Oracle) married a twenty something Michigan alum last year. I remember seeing something about her getting some NIL money for them from sugar daddy. Don't know if this is the source of their suddenly open pocketbook though.

Is this a move to try and get drafted? Not sure why he would leave Barca without permission if he knew he was coming to Illinois
The odd part is Sarr had been announced as participating for the world team for a while now -

So it sounds like Barca had given him permission given he wasn’t a key part of the team (otherwise he wouldn’t have been on the team roster on the Nike hoops summit site, etc) and then with injuries to their guards he’s playing more now (although he only played 8 min and had 0 points his last game) so they told him he couldn’t go and he went anyway. His contract is up at the end of the year and they seem like they are threatening legal action so I can’t see him returning there

You do know that’s there’s going to be more players entering the portal and players dropping out of the draft or that’s not happening this year….lol

I would assume this is problematic in some sense. 🤔

The Nike Hoops Summit is an international basketball all-star game sponsored by Nike, held once a year, which features the USA Basketball Men's Junior Select Team against a World Select Team of international players. The players demonstrate their skills and hope to attract attention from either NBA scouts or colleges.
Sounds like he has no plans of going back to Euroleague. Will be able to pay any penalties out of fat NIL bag from Illini, and then straight to the League.
