I guess you gave them some incentive. Beat the Red Sox 11-1 Friday.

A nice surprise based upon their recent losing streak. And that new Sox second baseman looks like he could be the real deal. Now if the Sox can get eight other guys on the field like that. And a good closer would be nice, too.

Keep dreaming…

While I was watching the game today, the announcers mentioned that the White Sox were 0-79 last year when trailing after 6 innings. Beat the Red Sox today 8-4 after trailing 4-2 after 6. Maybe there's some hope.

I saw that. Pretty low bar, but it does show promise. Some hitting starting to come around to go with the good pitching.

I wonder if there is an Adriatic baseball league that the Sox can get Geoff Alexander to commit to coming to Chicago for a year or two.

Really? The Sox are probably better at basketball than the current Bulls right now. Of course, the Bulls are probably better at baseball than the Sox right now, too.

Guess there was a logo of a white sock with a mostly white wing. But I can't unsee a Detroit Red Wing.
Sorry if I put that vision in your brain.
Really love these red city connect uniforms.

Would sure like this to be the corner that the Sox are turning...
Just read they have a kid in AAA pounding homers.
It could be... It might be...

I assume you’re talking about Tim Elko. A lot of power but a lot of swing and miss to his game. Hasn’t really been considered a top prospect (don’t think he was in top 30 WSox prospects coming into year), but certainly playing his way into that conversation. Him being 26 already might account for lack of prospect hype. Strictly a 1B/DH, but as bad as Vaughn has been not sure he’s much of a roadblock.

I think Vaughn has one more year of team control. Have to think Sox will bring up Elko sometime this year to see what they have to best determine what to do with Vaughn. Wish the latter would start hitting (obviously) to give the Sox more options and increase his value at trade deadline.

They need to bring Elko up soon if he keeps hitting. At 26 he's not being rushed. By the time the Sox are ready to be in contention he will only be 30. He and Vaughn can DH and one be traded at the deadline.
