The previous scholarship limit was 85. The new scholarship limit is the same as the new roster limit, 105. But, that’s a limit, not a requirement, meaning the team can award up to 105 scholarships. Question becomes, how many additional scholarships will the team decide to fund above last year’s 85.

Curious how Bret goes about allocating his stsff to primarily recruiting or coaching(and handling the overlap).

I might be losing it but I thought part of the reason Terry left was to get more coaching experience. This seems like more of an off-field title?

Yes. It's an arms race all across the sport.

Being able to manage all those people effectively and utilize their skills all in one coherent direction is increasingly the core of a head coaches job.

BB is one of those guys who is just naturally, obsessively process-oriented. An ops guy in his heart, it's the right kind of personality for it.

Do you (or anyone else) know how many people are on the UI staff, or the breakdown of actual coaches, recruiting people, and strength & conditioning on a typical B10/SEC type of staff? Heck, maybe we are pushing 50.

I don't like losing guys that helped build the program back up, but I do take it as a sign that the roster is really improving. Guys like McCray and Strain were guaranteed to get a lot of PT in the past. When the guys who previously were at the top of your depth chart are now looking elsewhere for snaps, it's a blessing in disguise. Maybe my read here is wrong, but that's how it appears to me.

This isnt explocitly related to Strain, but I know NIL can't be contingent to playing time. Can it be contingent upon being enrolled at the university?
