I sometimes laugh about this board. No one is forcing you to be here and to be quite honest, without the insider information it would be dull.

The fact we get to hear bits and pieces of what goes on in the background is awesome. I think it’s important to remember too that there will be times the staff doesn’t/ won’t say everything and times the staff is also caught off guard themselves.

For example, the staff probably knows exactly what is going on with Andrej right now but is keeping things hush to 1. wait until things on Illinois’ side are finalized and/or 2. to respect when Andrej and his family want things to go out.

I agree. It used to amaze me, but now I’m used to the whining around here when things don’t go a certain way.

I’ll be the first to acknowledge that I’ve made big decisions in the past where I’ve had a change of heart. As recently as September of ‘24, I turned down a job offer and notified my employer that I would remain and wanted my future to be there. Initially, I was going to accept a more lucrative offer despite logistical challenges.

Fast forward to December of ‘24, the company I had turned down reached back out with another improved offer and I accepted in a heartbeat.

Point being it was a tough decision initially in which I flipped. I have no regrets in regards to how it played out. I’d be surprised if most here didn’t have a similar moment in some aspect of life.

Anyways, let’s add Stojakovic.

I usually don't blame kids when they change their minds. But there are exceptions. With Eric Gordon, it was much less about the idea that he changed, but that he spent weeks leading up to it saying he was committed and left us in the lurch in the final moments - and going to a rival no less. Even the players were pissed, where most of the time players would be completely understanding because they've all been there.

Does off-season excitement over the roster really bother most fans? I get why people hate the business end of college sports, but it's been there in the background our entire lives. It's just bigger, closer, and easier to see now. You get to see how the sausage is made

I see your point, but I do think if the team roster changes every year, fan interest during the regular season will decline.

We do have a roller coaster emotional fan base here. Brad will move on if there is a player we are tracking has moved on. I have my issues with Brad but he has other irons in the fire if things go south. We just need to let all this play out. I personally want to thank you for posting what you can. We have solid insiders with Indy, Illini0440, DB11 and yourself.

2 - Subscription to Larry Butler’s recruiting news letter once a month.

Still very confident. No more visits and an announcement could come at any time. FL and North Carolina have tried, but from their side of things I think they realize Illinois is well out in front. Never know until it's official, so folks being nervous is understandable.

Like a majority of us on here, I appreciate the info you insiders share. Don't feed the trolls...

I might finally get a Twitter literally just because of this guy (as I have seen these posted here before!!). At the risk of going OT, these are all awesome in their own right and I understand part of the fun for this guy is using his talents to be creative and mix/match ... but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Would kill to see that navy Flyin' Illini mockup with the actual correct striping on the side and the number in orange. I actually don't hate the number and school name being in a different color on the navy and orange Script ones, though ... white Script should never change.

While true, the basis for this is the idea that this place is full of College age kids. That idea is as wrong that "Ben is an Elite shooter".. These are grown men prone to insecurity and just plain bad takes on life. Normally it's just good theatre, but lately is unwatchable reality TV.

Sometimes statements are made in a way to counter the extremism we face. The outcome is still undetermined so he may still be right on his first assertion, but wrong on the second.

All I’m gonna say is that Insiders should maybe learn that college-age kids aren’t super good at communicating deadlines and calibrate appropriately when interpreting what they’re told. Ok k

Great post!! Now there are two people on earth that understand the fickleness of dealing with college age kids.

Personally, I likely need to have it explained to me. I will be waiting anxiously for someone to tell me this, and then there will be 3!!!!

Of course more visits is a 'possibility'... he can schedule more visits if he wants... did we think he was restricted from doing so for some reason?

Its been a couple days and he's yet to schedule another visit... so...

I'm not worried about this as we have $ to spend (and will spend it and get good players anyhow)
