amen brother dub..........................

I was UPSET with Ben's 3 pt shooting %.........
I was UPSET with Ben's lack of defensive prowess.............
I was UPSET with Ben's low rebounding totals..............
I was UPSET with Ben's amount of playing time.......

But I never HATED him for the above......and if calling out a player's lack of production compared to his amount of court tick is
HATING on them , well then there is a lot of thin skinned fans here that need to learn the difference between constructive criticism and true hate.......

It's a message board and members give their opinions.......sometimes opinions might differ from your opinion of a subject matter being discussed.........we all should stop labeling other's opinion unless that opinion truly goes over the top.........

I don't read every post here....I've got a life that I really really enjoy so when I visit here I would hope to enjoy my browsing time here , but it's getting to the point that the bickering back and forth is tiresome and not that interesting to me .....JMHO.....
I never saw any constructive criticism, just criticism. And that’s fine. It was the amount given and the “witty” little names given to him that bothered me. To me there is a big difference between “Ben has to shoot better from 3” or in game threads saying, “Geez he’s missed 4 shots from 3; stop shooting them” to “he sucks.”Whether you want to call it hate or not, it got to be too much in my book.

I was never a big DGL fan. Thought he was fine in a limited role but never saw what others did. He shot much worse than Ben from 3, wasn’t much on D and his game really fell off at the end of the year. Most of the comments about him later in year were “guy has to be more aggressive like he was early in year.” Don’t remember seeing people say just DGL sucks. JMHO

Just want to say this. Ben wasn’t the problem last year, it’s how he was used.

He could be a great shooter off the bench that has some size to him. Very nice complimentary role player.

How will he be used this year is the question.

My expectations/hope for Ben this year is Luke Goode in 23-24.

If you exclude the games he started during TSJ's absence, Luke gave us 17 minutes a game off the bench, shot 40% on 3 pointers over 4 attempts per game and picked up 3.5 rebounds per game.

If you assume some regression to his mean and an uptick in efficiency with less usage, it's certainly achievable.

Just trying to keep the cheese conversations on topic. We are an older team now and hopefully long-distance shooting improves.

Recruiting news seems to have gone arid . Kinda miss it, and also very glad we're set with a good foundation and quality roster. Maybe or maybe not they add one more, but for now looks like ☮️.

Breaking news; if you have played in sports for more than a minute you have at very least heard negative comments and most likely have read negative comments. Not saying it's right, just part of the game(s)....... for just about ever.
"Just about ever" meaning since around 2010, when people shifted from "hey, social media is cool! It connects the world" to "hey, I can act like a total a**hat on here and no one will notice!"

You didn't send in a fax saying "I'm back" and have a bunch of randos fax you back saying "You suck!" Different world out there these days.

Yeah…it’s great if you like somewhat sparse mediocre toppings on a burnt cracker with no taste.

I'm not disputing this whatsoever. It just made me nearly lol because it reminded me of eating dinner in the Peabody Drive dining halls (Scott/Snyder/Weston/Taft-Van Doren) around 1985-6 and, at some point one evening during basketball season, hearing "Meents, you suck!!" shouted across the dining room between Weston and Snyder as Scott strolled in.

This was a fully public insult hurled at a guy who eventually made it to the show and played a couple seasons with the Sonics.

I like it. If Ben had been recruited and then was played as if that was his role, no problem. (But that’s what Jake Davis was supposed to be I guess)

But it looked like Ben was recruited and then asked to fill Coleman’s shoes in terms of playing time and contribution.

To be fair to everyone involved, there were a number of moments in the season where Tomi was either out or the post-mono shadow of himself, Morez was in foul trouble, and Brad just didn't have any other choice than to give Ben extended runs in a position where he was very vulnerable and overmatched.

And to be fair to the people who said angry and mean things about it, the results were very bad.

there were many many instances where Ben was playing and many of us said to get Wil or Morez or someone (even Jake) on the court instead of him. Sure there were times that we were forced to give him minutes. But that was not the issue and it is not why people starting piling on Ben.

Many said that Ben was getting minutes bc of how much he was getting in NIL and Brad being stubborn.

Glad Ben is back, honestly, shouldn't have been put in a spot to start. I can see giving him 10-15 minutes a game as a shooter. He was compared too much to Domask in the beginning and that isn't super fair as Domask is such a confident player. You can just see the difference in energy in both players. Still glad to have him back for experience and shooting ability, as a non starter.

These players are on the same level of scrutiny as the coaches now. They are no longer just student athletes. They are millionaires that deserve honesty with regards to their play now. Times have changed and they should earn what they are being paid to do. Hummer didn't deserve 30 minutes a game last year, but him taking a cut and sticking around should earn everyone's respect considering how many players are hoping around for the biggest paycheck now. I hope he finds a role that helps us win 30 games this year. We are going to need him.
Who should of took his minutes??? Booth was unplayable, Jake too small, DGL too small, Riley was getting minutes maybe should of started more, Morez had to decide to play how coach wanted him too, Ty redshirted, Jaksty redshirt pre season, Tomi missed games, Tre missed games, Davis literally was throwing up at halftime, Kasparus missed games, Morez missed games, Ben played because he was the only option sometimes..... Glads Ben is back glad he gets 300k.... Guarantee he will drop 10 percent in the collection plate on Sunday.... Great role player, 0 drama guy, that is a lights out shooter year 2 jump is going to quiet the haters

Because of the way he finished the season, people seem to forget he shot 28% from the field and 13% from 3 in the month of December.
January was better but not a lot. (33% FG, 25% 3pt)
There was a long stretch where he did not seem like a better alternative.
