Watkins is having a hell of a week. Will stay in the draft I assume.
Mich and Sarr? He is likey not going to provide what Yaxel would have. Maybe a higher ceiling but gone in a year!
They have Yaxel cash sitting…. they buy a player, and the power forwards are getting slim pickings!
Coward has also killed the combine(7'2 wingspan is freakish). I think he might end up being a top 20ish pick.

If Duke loses Coward, I would imagine they pivot to Sarr.

Bad news for Michigan, Yaxel has had a fantastic combine.

He didn't play in the scrimmages, but he had better measurements than expected and shot the ball well in drills. He grew an inch and added 15 lbs. since last summer, which just increases his intrigue as a prospect. (Is he done growing? He's just turned 19...)
He's pushing for a spot in the lottery at this point. (Depending on a teams willingness to wait on him) I'd be surprised if he falls past 20.

ESPN has a post-combine mock with Will at 22 and I think several others have moved him up to the early 20s. I think his potential is viewed more favorably, especially after showing he can develop his body in addition to his game this last year. He's still viewed as needing time to develop which is probably the only thing keeping him outside the lottery (and he might still go that high)

I think that they have a coach who won't let that happen, UNFORTUNATELY.

This one has Will's dunk thru the legs. Did not know he had that in him.

I almost never watch the NBA before the playoffs. Watching Brunson tonight, KJ is going to excel at the next level. There will be a learning curve, of course, but his skillset is so suited for the NBA game and having amazing shooters around him. Yes, he can tighten his handle, but he is made to be an NBA point guard. Can't wait to watch his progression!

Yaxel's a coinflip in terms of returning vs. staying. He's projected in the 20-30 range, which I think is worth getting drafted, but he wanted a top-20 promise and doesn't seem to have gotten it. I'm of the opinion that he's at the point in his career where getting older and spending another year in college is detrimental to his draft stock. He'll be 23, the earliest pick in last year's draft that age was No. 17. The year before it was No. 30.

The issue for him is he gets $4M playing one year at Michigan. He's not making that this year if he's drafted where he's projected, so he'd have to trade away the short-term money for (in my opinion) a better chance at long-term money.

I wish Denver had a first round pick this year. Would be so fun to see Will on that Denver team. He needs time, for sure, but I think he could be a useful bench piece on that team now (they have none) and maybe fill out to take over MPJ's role in the long run.
