I'm as hopeful as they come and that thought even crept in after the Fowler leadoff HR.I can't imagine how many times I said/thought this during game 7![]()

I don't take your comments as snarky and I do agree that vibes matter in sports. However, contrary to your opinion, I will take the opposite view and say they matter way less in baseball than in any other sport because baseball in the most part consists of a series of one on one battles and the hyped up hustle factor is less than in contact sports. If you felt more vibes in baseball I respect that.Serious question, I promise I'm not being snarky or sarcastic. Have you ever played organized sports at a high level? I played college baseball and I can tell you vibes matter, man. Probably in baseball more than other sports I played (basketball/football). I don't think the Heyward speech is what actually makes the hits happen, but it didn't hurt to have the rain delay/regrouping in the dugout. The momentum was completely in Cleveland's favor.
Same here. I was watching a replay of game 7 last year when I was home sick one day and I still cried when it finished. My great grandpa lived from 1919-2008, watched the Cubs every day and never got the chance to see them win it. Always think of him and happy he would be. My favorite line of his anytime the Cubs had anyone good he'd say "oh by the All star break, they'll trade him for a couple of sore-arm pitchers"I don't take your comments as snarky and I do agree that vibes matter in sports. In any event, November 2, 2016 was one of the best days in my life. Even seeing replays of the game and the aftermath to this day makes me teary eyed.
PCA keeps this up, and he is headed for MVP in the National League
We’re not talking motivational speeches though. We’re talking about having a veteran guy with a lifetime .284 BA who can talk to youngsters about approach, making adjustments, how they’re being pitched to (pitch sequencing), and just life in baseball. There is certainly value in that. Wouldn’t elevate him enough if he was hitting .203 as starting 1B, but he’s the backup. “Key to success” might be overstating it, but I don’t think it is a stretch to think Turner’s value goes beyond what happens between the lines.Right. And the Cubs won the World Series because Heyward gave a speech.
Sounds like he suffered from PTSD from the Ernie Broglio trade. Thankfully that was before my time.Same here. we will never know2 different things. I agree Maddon managed a terrible game. But do you really think Schwarber, Zobrist and Montero wouldn't have delivered those clutch hits in the 10th if Heyward didn't give a speech ?
I'm not minimizing his locker room contributions and I'm in no way a Turner hater but I just thought "The Key to Cubs' Success" was a bit too much. We’re not talking motivational speeches though. He’s adding onto those stats tonight…

We might be good.
At the risk of being negative after such a NICE win, Julian Merryweather should not be pitching when the outcome of a game is still in the balance.
Ohtani can hit a TON, no doubt. However, PCA effects a game in both halves of an inning. He's probably going to win a gold glove and he's on pace for 44 home runs and 140 RBI's. If the season ended TODAY, PCA is the MVP, hands down.So long as someone named Ohtani is healthy and playing in the National League, this is a pipe dream at best.
