A few of our guys have taken a significant dip in the rankings after committing. whether authentically genuine, or if it's just these services judging if the guy committed to the "right school" or not.

It's just that they committed to us. Ratings don't mean anything anymore.

Cobbs' rating went down twice before he committed, then went down and then up after he committed.

There are also a couple players whose ratings have only gone up since committing:

Based on Allen trieu appearances on the Werner pod, sort of reads like they both are tweeners between what position they will play. Doesn't mean they won't turn out to be good, but they don't have that clear projection at a specific spot

This makes sense, as the 247 rankings give a lot of weight to whether prospects project as future NFL draft picks or not. A tweener will obviously have a more difficult path to getting drafted.

Ratings only matter when our guys move up or are highly ranked. Otherwise, ignore them and trust the coaches.

I like the player but wonder why no Husker offer.

Nebraska has the least amount of commitments (4) and lowest ranked team in the B1G. One of their commits is Raiola's brother. They haven't taken a prep commitment since Thanksgiving.

Could be a lot of reasons for that, but leading theory (for me) is they brought in a lot of preps the past two seasons so this class will be small, but they'll LOAD up in the transfer portal. They likely see a path to being a playoff contender in 2026 if all goes according to plan in 2025.

I live in Lincoln, this kids a solid RB but he will likely take a couple years to see action. While it is true Nebraska is known for locking down their borders, Rhule has taken a different approach. If they feel they have higher ceiling players on their board, they wont waste time on some of the local players and they are pretty up front about looking elsewhere.

On the other hand, if its an area of need/ a highly recruited player, they do what they can to not let a kid leave. Also Omaha has been a thorn in the side of Nebraska for several years now. Very few end up lasting or contributing. Not sure why 100% but its been a trend for a while. I have a feeling a lot of the Omaha kids aren't native Nebraskans, while in 95% of the state, the kids dream to play there. Etc.
