what a load of horse-s&*t......................ranks us # 10 in the B$G with a 10-2 record.........
But the Ducks Wire article itself projects us to finish 4th, with a 10-2 record. They compare this to ESPN’S 10th place projection and 6.8-5.2 result.

And just as a further clarification, the "ESPN" projection is just the projection of one particular ESPN model, FPI. ESPN has another model, SP+, that projects us as the #19 team in the nation, and whose predictions average us at 8.7 wins.

Something to think about and watch.

Ohio State Qb room. None of their top three have ever started a college football game.

One of them has left the door open to possibly grad transferring after summer quarter of school is complete at end of July.

Their trip to Champaign will be, at most, the 2nd road start of their career. Depending upon how things go for them the two weeks before, if a qb switch is made, it could be their first.

They just recently brought in a small school journeyman type transfer dude with a below 50% completion history to provide at least some veteran presence.

Game of matchups and circumstances

Plus a guy (Pavia) who transferred from NM State to Vandy, and then went 7-6 last year with an unusually overachieving team, slagging the BT is rich on its own. I mean, it's not like the BT did well in the playoff last year or anything. lol

I fervently hope Vandy overperforms again (i.e., wins more than two SEC games), ends up in a bowl v. Rutgers, and gets its a$$ kicked.

3 and 9 works too

I'd feel better about our chances for an upset if this game came a few weeks earlier. I think OSU will have everything fine tuned by week 7 with all their 5-star talent - but there is a reasonable argument that the lower ranked team with a 3rd year QB, experience up and down the lineup, and playing at home, can pull off the upset. I remember seeing upsets (#21 & #5) in back to back (hot) weeks in 2007.

More than reasonable, I’d submit. Especially if there is some controversy going on about who should be starting. The two hotshot youngsters have distinctly different body types, skill sets.

Texas is being favored at Columbus in the opener, from what I’ve seen. Then two gimmes at home.

Week 7, but with one less game coming in for them due to early bye week.

Illini get to develop a book on the new guys by watching them against Ryan Walters’ Defense at Washington, then against the Fleckster.

They might be doing the two-qb system by that time.

About as good of a situation as Illini could ask for; especially if Illini are on a heater entering the matchup.

That interview makes one very happy that BB is our head coach. He has a great feel for people and how to treat them with respect. Every potential recruit should listen to what he has to say in this interview.
