I personally wish JC the best of luck. Every interview I’ve heard with him, he seems like a good kid. This would have hurt a lot worse in previous years, but I don’t think it’s a huge blow right now. I just hate to see anyone ragging on the kid for his choice.

Where does the staff turn to for the final scholarships. Will they be saving them for possible flips in the fall?
Flips and transfer portal. I'm a big fan of Vala and the 6.5ft freshman from Maroa Forsyth by Decatur. Fast and solid route runner. Hate to see local kids go elsewhere. Good luck to JC..

I agree no one should “rag on the kid,” but that doesn’t mean I have to wish him luck. There are 1,000 “good kids” out there committing to play ball. I’ll wish the best of luck to the 85 Illini, not someone who visited 15 times and decided we weren’t good enough for him.

Think they may add another Safety and a Nickel Back to the class…
Are we in his final four?

Mack also may have been a bit of a Tylef Warren type. Has literally played every skill position. Maybe I'm wrong, but think we would've had a better shot if our visit was after Bama's. Paraphrasing, but did read somewhere him saying something along the lines of "Everyone around me wanted to stay home, but my heart was always at Bama." (FWLIW)
Doesn’t help that his high school’s adopted motto has been “roll eagles.” Makes zero sense but plenty of folks there enamored with Alabama.

Wow, that is a lot of visits, hot dogs and apple pie!

True.... Both JC and Mack better put their big boy pants on.

They are small fish in the pond they just chose to swim in. Will be very fortunate if they see any playing time early in their careers.
Virtually all TE's do not see playing time out of High-school. They are both freakishly talented athletes. With huge potential. Wish em best and with college ball now. Catch them in 2 years if they move back home. If not oh well, keep recruiting.

many lads have been enticed thru the years to play big time college ball in California or the SEC.

sadly , it rarely works out well for them
