He seems to be looking to the left a littleSorry, I meant Seiya.
I've watched (and played) a lot of baseball in my day and can't even fathom how that could happen. The only thing that could explain it is that he was sort of watching the throw (?)

If you’ve ever played baseball or softball you know how this can happen. He was trying to beat the throw by taking a long stride to get to the base sooner. He came up short. He seems to be looking to the left a little
The bullpen has been less than lights out since the trade deadline. I think they have been lights off…This is bad.
At this point, the pitching is moot. That offense, less Hoerner and Shaw, is useless. They don't do the little things right and they live and die with the long ball. Right now..... there's absolutely no power surge in the order. The bullpen has been less than lights out since the trade deadline. I think they have been lights off…
If they don't pay Tucker $500,000,000, they aren't going to give it to someone else. They will just keep it.The trade deadline deals look really good so far.
This team is in total disarray. I don't care if they still have the 2nd or 3rd best record. That team played in a different lifetime.
If Tucker can go in slumps this long do you really want to pay him? Don't throw good money after bad just to justify Jed's trade. Use that money for a starter or two and bring up your coveted farm team jewels next year.
I'm done. And the Brewers won again.

Did you mean the whole state of Minnesota is bigger than Chicago city limits (not including metro area)? For the record, Minneapolis St. Paul combined is bigger than chi-town
I still have faith. I’m a long time Cubs fan. They always come through.Looking like the flubs again since June 01. Gross.
I think they've kinda quit on the leadership. With the FO doing NOTHING to strengthen starting pitching, the whole team took a downer. Asking themselves, "don't they want us to win?" "Aren't they going to get us the necessary help to pursue winning?"The team just looks like they are gassed. Slow bats, brain cramps, lazy throws, passive play, baserunning mistakes, etc.. Could it be too many innings for the starting lineup due to no bench and too many innings for the relievers due to bullpen days and lack of length from starters? In other words - could it be Hoyer's roster construction leading to Counsell's over use of his best players?
Why? His coaching style didn't change from April/May, then June/July. The players, especially the "stars", haven't performed. These are major league players that have been doing this for a LONG time. Tucker, Happ, Swanson and Suzuki haven't been coached into slumps. They just haven't been getting the job done.Same with the offense. If they hadn't performed so well in the first half, I'd be firing the hitting coach about now.
Thank you.Y’all know we won today, right?
The last couple weeks have sucked, but I’m still hopeful this was just a temporary slump and not the reality for the rest of the season. Next couple weeks will be very telling. Maybe the bats coming out today will bring back some confidence.
Make that 21-5....Since July 5
Cubs: 13-13
Brewers: 20-5
The Cubs haven’t collapsed or anything. It’s just the Brewers have been playing .800 baseball for a month.
What did Milwaukee do at the deadline?I think they've kinda quit on the leadership. With the FO doing NOTHING to strengthen starting pitching, the whole team took a downer. Asking themselves, "don't they want us to win?" "Aren't they going to get us the necessary help to pursue winning?"
Meanwhile, The Brewers did MORE at the trade deadline than the Cubs and are feeling on top of the world. They just have the bit in their teeth and dominate each game.
In this series with Cincinnati, the Cubs starters (plus Brown in an injury relief for the bum they did pick up at the TDL) gave up 3 runs in three games (18 innings.) Yet they lost two of three. relievers tanked and hitters didn't show up.
I think that they are demoralized....
