I have been checking the prospects for the Cards after the trade deadline. They have 12 position players listed on their MiLB Top 30 prospect list. I added Herrara as he fits my question.

I realize that with Herrara most are or were catchers, and hopefully they can move a couple for help at other positions. Has any team ever had a starter and 4 of their top 12 prospects with 30 run grades (VERY SLOW) and 2 more with 40 grades (BELOW AVERAGE). In my best Charlie Brown voice, good grief. Talk about station to station baseball. Rodriguez is supposed to be a monster with the bat and their is talk of moving him to LF to push him through the minors. One problem, then what do you do with Herrara. Sorry his arm is poor, actually bad. I know that there is time to work it out. With a work stoppage on the horizon, it may be 28/29 before we are close to back. As I turn 66 next month, really hoping Chaim Bloom is a wizard. Of course if DeWitt is only interested in $$$, sigh....

Good job laying this all out. I am just a little older than you so we grew up in a different era than what we are watching today. Whiteyball is dead. Sadly. The strikeout rates are some much higher today than they were in the 60's or 70's. Batters go for the lift instead of linedrives. Again. Sad.
