Losing this series at home is just not good.

Losing 4 out 6 games this season to the worst team in MLB is just not good either

This organization, the ownership in particular, took an 83 win team in 2024 and decided to sit out the offseason calling it a reset. The Cardinals are playing .500 or near that wth a quarter of the season left, and still have an outside chance (which is getting less with each loss) of making the playoffs. I do not know about the rest of you, but the Cardinals are achieving about what I expected before the season. It is frustrating to lose 2 out of 3 to the Rockies, but this is not a championship roster as you all know.

stop giving mediocre players no trade clauses

Should be gone:

Nolan (OK I understand)
Contreras (catcher who can't catch - way to go Moz)
Gray - at least he is pitching well
Miles - gave long term contract after 1 good season. Has stunk since.

That has been Mo's M.O. for a decade or more.

I think that they are achieving more than I expected. I was thinking 75 win team. The question comes, what are they going to do about it in the offseason? Honestly, I am ok with the reset, if done correctly. There is some young talent on the team, they do need to figure out who they want to keep and nurture and who they need to ship off. Hopefully, those that go elsewhere don't become all-stars.

I generally agree. The reset was not completed because Areanado would not approve a trade to Houston. As for the young talent, we have been hearing the same thing for 10 years about young talent. We all went through the ideal outfield of O'Neil, Bader, and Carlson. Now we have Nootbar, Scott, and Walker. My guess is this is not an overnight fix.

I'm glad this was an off day for the Cardinals............the last 2 game losses to the 32-88 powerhouse Rockies was painful to say the least.........we lost the season series to them............we stopped their shutout streak.........aren't we nice ?

It's about time to get real about our team...............it really really is...........................

Just an FYI, Bader has been worth 2.8 bWAR this season. That's higher than anyone on the roster currently (Winn is closest at 2.5). He actually is a good baseball player.

It also points out that the Cardinals need to put better players on the field. And I am not convinced there is a solution in the immediayte future.

Past 4 years we were counting on

Wynn - came thru
Contreras FA - can't catch, OK batter
Gorman - 1st round bust, strikes out, poor defender
Walker - pounds ball into ground, power wasted , strikes out, poor defender
Nolan - got old early - OK it happens
Edmonds - nice player, too injury prone and getting expensive

Playing OK but not star
Donovan - above average hitter, average defense, utility player
Alec B - above average hitter, bad defense, lacking power
Noot - injury prone, average hitter, OK defense
Herrara - might be best hitter on team. Why can't they play him at catcher???

Pallante has given up 19 ER's in last 23 1/3 innings with a 6-9 season record.........that's a 7.34 era......has his runway been long enough already ??

He has also been getting little run support on the offensive side.

Hopefully only one more lost season, potential lockout and then we can come with some more juice in 2027 and beyond. 🤞
