Duke was the better team in the first half and they kept shooting themselves in the foot.

Illinois was the better team in the 2nd half and they did not miss.
Their own foot? Playing on emotion lasts about 1 1/2 quarters and then talent takes over.
This was a typical Bielema Wisconsin game. Play even for a half and then the other team is gasping by the end.
LOVE IT!!!

Just amazing what Bielema has done here. I was skeptical initially, but he knows winning. He knows how to create a program. And he is delivering everything I’ve ever wanted out of this program.

30 years of futility. Excuse after excuse. Chicago! The Admin! Academics! Orange Sweater Vest Army! And it ends up that it simply was the simplest reason - and ultimately the easiest thing to solve - we hired incompetent coaches.

The Peter Principle hire, an NFL guy that hated recruiting, a recruiter that literally couldn’t do anything else, the biggest moron on earth, and a splashy name brand that had no idea about college athletics while simply looking for an easy paycheck for him and his family.

Kudos to Whitman for finally making the solid hire.

We may get out talented in this league, and we absolutely will! Importantly though, I don’t think we will ever look like the clown shoes group of incompetent losers like we have for a long long time.

I’m [expletive] giddy about this program. And today feels like another step forward to a lasting foundation of a program.

(Will still be nervous after a non scoring opening drive next week against WMU)

Been said before, but how refreshing to picture some Duke fan sitting at home today, bemoaning the fact that they scheduled Illinois just when they got good. After ourselves doing that for so many years...
