Will be interesting to see how the pollsters see the Illini's road win over Duke with week #3 polls. Illini were #11 in week #2. No teams ranked ahead of the Illini lost, with only #8 Clemson struggling at home vs. Troy (final 27 - 16 but Troy led 16 - 0 and 16 - 3 at half). Teams #12, 13, 15, and #17 all lost which should increase separation to teams behind the Illini. Only #14 FSU had a really strong showing with 729 yds of offense but against East Texas A&M. Could Clemson drop any/enough spots for the Illini to move up one spot?
Lol the new SP+ garbage rankings came out. Illinois moved up to 16th (at least a little closer to reality) but I think it has 12 of the top 24 teams SEC and like 5 of the top 9.I'd guess 10 or 11 in most polls, except the various ESPN rankings, where the Illini would slot in somewhere behind every SEC team (except maybe Florida).
Would love that. Their fans are unbearable on social. Just can't let last year's bowl loss go.I could see moving past SCar… they were a 42.5 favorite I believe.
Lets do it!!!!!Would love that. Their fans are unbearable on social. Just can't let last year's bowl loss go.

From AP article: "No. 9 Illinois has its first top-10 ranking since it was No. 7 in December 2001."Congrats to our players and coaches. I cannot recall the last time we were top 10 in any football poll (was it 2007 or maybe 2001??). This is a huge milestone for our program and our school. Let's ride this wave and keep it going!! Yay!!!
