another poor offensive performance, if you can call it that, against a no-name pitcher with a losing record
5th best record in baseball with a 4.5 game lead on the second WC. Just need to hold serve the rest of the way since they are not catching the Brewers.

OK, it's Sunday morning. Tucker hasn't played in a while and we don't know when he will. PCA will probably miss a couple games. Let's admit it also...Seiya should be sitting a few games too after someone comes back.
The bench of Turner, Santana, Castro and Alcantara has been underwhelming (to be kind).
If Hoyer doesn't bring up Caissie he should be fired.

I saw that Owen was in Chicago yesterday in case Tucker goes on IL.

With the lack of clutch hitting, the outlook for the playoffs is bleak. Facing the number 1 and 2 pitchers will result in close games requiring manufactured runs. Not something they have been good at.

They can be good. The speed on this team is way above average. The starting pitching is above average. No team wants to face the Cubs in the first round.

I like our chances to get past the first round. This kind of feels like 2015 to me.

Yes, I am drinking the blue kool-aid!

I agree, Horton, Shota and Boyd/Taillon is solid. We most likely will play either the Dodgers or SD in the first round. I like our chances and winning that series would put us against Milwaukee and we have proved we can beat them.

The difference is that the 2015 Cubs average age was 26.9, one of the youngest in baseball.
The 2025 Cubs average age is 30.28 (before they picked up Santana).

We are doing a bullpen game today with Pomeranz starting. Also a makeshift lineup to give guys a day off. Let’s win this series and hope Pitts ban win a game today.

I don't want to hear about how good the Cubs are because they have the 4th or 5th best record in baseball. They have been a .500 ball club the last 3 months. The team that played the first 2 months is not this team. Some say the offense has been inconsistent. I'll say it has been bad.
Losing 2 out of 3 to the Wasington Nationals in September at home is not acceptable.

the Brewers went on a franchise-historic run to overtake the Cubs for the division lead and then extend it, but that being said, they've had multiple opportunities to cut the deficit to a manageable number but have no one to blame but themselves IMO (swept by Giants, don't sweep Rockies or pirates, losing 2 of 3 to twins, royals, reds, Cardinals and nationals). losing the division once again to a Brewers team with a much lower payroll is unacceptable. why Hoyer was extended is beyond me, he hasn't won anything without Theo

Most everyone in MLB is pretty average this season. Most are playing poorly right now. Maybe the Cubs will go on a moderately warm streak and win the whole thing. Some crappy team is going to. Bad part is we are playing horribly at the end of the season.
