Interesting games tonight.
IU back to boatracing weaker opponents.

UCLA looking worse than most could have expected.

KSU not looking nearly as good as most expected. Might end up 1-3 with their only win being against North Dakota by 3 points.

Coach "Prime" is no BB.
UCLA might very well be the worst P4 team.

And then was horrible at FSU. Way too much drama surrounding that kid to take an unnecessary chance on him. Maybe 5 years ago.
Seemed like OSU success was coach based (smith at MsU). Nico might be coached based as well (heupel).

With performances like this you wonder if the team hasn't folded and is hoping he's gone.
they have talent
he and his staff must just be the worst coaches imaginable

if he prepares for games as he prepared for last years B1G media days, it checks out

if I'm them, I'm talking to Urban Meyers agent today . They need to shoot higher then a Jon Gruden

It is a shame they are not on the schedule this season.
they must be on next years schedule, as we haven't faced them year and we will have played all the other west coast teams after this year
pretty sure they will still be sketchy next year, but yea, this is the year to play them

edit: attendance of 31000 at the Rose Bowl last night
granted, a Friday night game vs the Lobos, but still.

do you even trust the AD to make the next hire after he made that one ?

0-12 is a legit possibility for UCLA this year.
It is, but they also do have a good amount of talent. I think they surprise people in a couple games this year with by winning or hanging in there. I think it’ll still be a bad season overall though. 2-3 wins is optimistic, 4 would be tops.

I was looking at espn, their advanced metrics are so stupid. I’m looking at graphs that tell me nothing. Like ok… does this mean the qb needs to watch more film…? they tend to pass on third and long? thanks. I have no idea what the value-added takeaways are supposed to be.

I suppose.

But I can't help but think about the alternative world we seemed to occupy where we have UCLA as our 6th game and we're licking our chops.

Then they lose game 5, fire Foster, switch QBs, insert a freshman corner from Provo who intercepts Luke 2 times , and we get upset.

As far as ucla goes, they have talent and I wouldn’t say they have ‘bad coaching’, more like some pieces are missing from the coaching staff. They lack either a CEO, offensive or defensive guru type head coach like all successful programs seem to have. As a result they appear to have a lack of focus/sense of urgency.

Also the school itself doesn’t make things easy from what I hear, which is a reason why Chip left. If foster was hired to be Illinois’ running backs coach, I think it’d be a great hire, but he just doesn’t have it in him to be head honcho.
