It didn't in 2023  ..but yes all four 11am FOX games so far this season have/or will host the Big Noon Kickoff show. There is also Oregon at Penn State that night. We'll find out for sure this weekend. Go Illini
Ugh, I was so damn mad that year. We were set to host in Week Three, and we had tickets/were getting excited for our drive down. While out watching games (and attending Oktoberfest here in Chicago!) the Saturday before, two things happened that sealed our fate:

1) We laid an egg at Kansas that Friday night, making us look a lot less likely to give #7 Penn State a real scare.
2) Deion's CU team kept the magic going by hammering Nebraska at home and putting on an amazing show for their Big Noon pregame setup.

So, Big Noon ditched us at the eleventh hour and returned to Boulder for a second week in a row. I was SO sad walking around Grange Grove and seeing the BTN pregame stage setup instead, lol. To make it sting even more? Big Noon left us to go cover a Colorado/CSU game that was on ESPN that night. :( So yeah, 11:00 am kind of stinks, but I really hope we get to host the show and put on a great scene in Grange Grove!!

I think that was a unique one off because of the hype surrounding Sanders and Colorado. I guess there is the chance that they go to Happy Valley, but that would potentially mean three competing interests: NBC, ESPN (assuming they select for Game Day), and then Fox.

I believe if Illinois handles business in Bloomington, and USC beats Michigan State, it would be hard to pass up the Illini and USC for the kickoff show, especially considering they will already have infrastructure in place for the game itself.

I'd guess almost a 100 percent chance we get the Big Noon crew even if we lose. There's no Deion situation this year, and this would be two ranked teams still, even if Indiana beats us.

I bought tickets to this game thinking there is no way they would put it at 9am west coast time.

I thought this game would have been our best chance for game day to date. If we are undefeated when the buckeyes come into town that would be a no brainer for game day to come.

Big Noon have only not been at a game they were televising twice (one was our 2023 Penn State game). It would be almost funny if they did it again and went to PSU, and we were hosting 2/3 games they decided to broadcast from a game they weren't televising.

Lol, I agree it would be funny in a ridiculously crazy way ... but man, I really want to see what we can do with Grange Grove for a Big Noon Kickoff pregame for a season where our fans are actually pumped! Not saying Big Noon hasn't had great backdrops other places, but...

I for one REALLY want to see our beautiful stadium showcased on national TV with a full crowd. Not even being overly dramatic here - it could genuinely "educate" a lot of casual fans about how cool of a setup we have had all of this time and are only finally realizing the potential of!

“At the Illinois-USC football game on Saturday, Sept. 27, the band members will participate in the traditional sounding of the air raid siren . . .”

… someone please inform the youngsters in the sound booth that this needs to segue directly into Riding the Storm Out. 😉
